This week of WWE Monday Night Raw was broadcast from the FedEx Forum in Memphis. Braun Strowman came out to kick-off the show.
Braun Strowman talked about his Royal Rumble opponent, Brock Lesnar, and said that Lesnar is afraid of him. Baron Corbin then came out to interrupt him, mocking him. Strowman angrily chased Corbin backstage and encountered the Singh Brothers, one of whom was thrown onto a table.
Elias was then seen backstage, singing a song about how Corbin was hiding in the limousine, and Strowman pulled the driver out of the car. Strowman ripped the car door off its hinges, and encountered a shocked Vince McMahon, whose car he just damaged. McMahon didn't look happy.
Vince McMahon told Braun Strowman he was out of the Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble, Strowman then flipped the limo and walked off.
Next on Raw, Sasha Banks and Ronda Rousey defeated the team of Nia Jax and Tamina. After the match, Ronda Rousey mocked Sasha Banks, calling her "classiest loser". The Revival faced The Lucha House Party next on Raw and defeated them.
Vince McMahon came out next for a special announcement, and he got interrupted by John Cena, Finn Balor, Baron Corbin, and Drew McIntyre. All four of them demanded an opportunity to face Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble. McMahon then booked a Fatal-4 way match between all these competitors to decide Brock Lesnar's opponent.
Next on Raw, the team of Bayley, Natalya, and Nikki Cross faced the Riott Squad and beat them comfortably. Finn Balor faced Jinder Mahal next and defeated him to qualify for the Fatal-4 way match.
Dean Ambrose faced Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley in a triple-threat match for the Intercontinental Championship. After some amazing action, Bobby Lashley won the match to become the new Intercontinental Champion.
Next on Raw, Alexa Bliss came out for the second episode of "A Moment With Bliss". Paul Heyman was her guest this time, and Bliss revealed that the women's tag team titles will be contested at Elimination Chamber where three teams from SmackDown and three teams from RAW will compete. She then unveiled the new women's tag team titles.
Paul Heyman talked about the possible opponent of Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. He predicted that Drew McIntyre will one day be Universal Champion, but not anytime soon.
Otis Dozovic of Heavy Machinery interfered but was taken backstage by his tag team partner, Tucker Knight, and officials, as the segment ended with Alexa and Heyman not really knowing what was going on.
In the main event of this week's Raw, Finn Balor defeated John Cena, Drew McIntyre, and Baron Corbin to gain an opportunity to face the Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, at Royal Rumble 2019.
John Cena got on the mic after the match, and said that Balor got one more person who believes in him, before shaking his hand.
