Unpopular Opinion: Charlotte Flair deserves a WrestleMania main event just as much as Becky Lynch

As I was browsing social media earlier today (a risky venture these days), I came across a recurring theme. Now that Becky Lynch has another shot at facing RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35, many are questioning why Charlotte Flair is in the match.

As the daughter of the 'Nature Boy', many have even stated (without any evidence of course), that the only reason that Charlotte has been put into the position she's in today, is because of her last name.

And whilst Becky Lynch may be the most popular Superstar in WWE today (though with her fair share of haters), it's obvious to me, that Charlotte Flair deserves to be in the main event of WrestleMania 35.

Just to disparage the claims of nepotism, Charlotte Flair isn't a multiple-time champion because of her last name. If it was truly that easy, then I must've forgotten the lengthy WWE title reign of David Flair.

No, if anything, being a Flair got her a foot in the door, but it was the Queen's natural ability that made her a champion.

And to claim she does not deserve this spot is ridiculous.

Even before she was on the main roster, Flair was doing wonders in NXT, helping to establish the brand as the place for women's wrestling, at a time when Divas still ruled RAW and SmackDown.

Flair helped give credibility to women's wrestling in WWE, as part of the four horsewomen.

And when she joined the main roster in 2015, Flair was responsible for ushering in the Women's Revolution, alongside Becky, Sasha Banks, and eventually, Bayley.

If fans don't like her, that's fine. If fans wanna cheer for Becky Lynch, or even the recently-heel turned Ronda Rousey over Flair, that's fine too.

But it's ridiculous to say that the Queen doesn't deserve the main event spot, and come WrestleMania, expect all three women to give everything they have.
