After the crowd was reveling in Kofi Kingston's victory, Rey Mysterio made his way to the ring to challenge Samoa Joe for the United States Championship. Rey Mysterio sported what looked like the villain Mysterio's costume from Spiderman.
Joe started things off with a boot to Mysterio's face but Mysterio quickly recovered and hit Joe with a 619. Mysterio quickly made his way to the top rope but was caught by Joe. The Samoan Submission Machine locked in the coquina clutch and it was lights out for the challenger.
Mysterio was one Title away from becoming a Grand Slam Champion. He may have realized his dream had he not injured himself in a match against Kurt Angle's WrestleMania opponent, Baron Corbin on the go home episode of Raw. There were rumors that he would be replaced at The Showcase Of The Immortals by John Cena.
Result: Samoa Joe retained the United States Championship via submission.
