Only two weeks remain in 2019.

In order to close 2019 on a high note, wrestling promotions around the world have ramped up their attempts to either sign or re-sign free agents. And with the potential start-up of All Elite Wrestling, strategies on signing have changed this year.

WWE has been offering contracts to most free agents in order to keep them from going to AEW or ROH. Even though they can't sign everyone, WWE has either offered contracts to some stars and had the offers rejected or signed some free agents.

Although they are still under contract to their respective companies, WWE reportedly showed interest in Killer Kross of Impact Wrestling and Kushida of NJPW. Both would be good signings but their interest in going to WWE is unknown.

Fred Yehi of Evolve and Full Impact Pro have also been on their radar and Shane Strickland appeared to be heading to WWE before his no-compete clause with Lucha Underground was examined.

WWE also reportedly offered contracts to members of the Elite including Adam Page, Cody and the Youngs Bucks, with all allegedly turning down WWE.

Things might change in the coming weeks, but if those reports are to be believed then the Elite will be working on their own promotion in 2019.

WWE also reportedly offered contracts to Tetsuya Naito, and Bandido with both men turning down the offers. Even though free agency isn't always a winning situation, there are some wrestlers who have reportedly agreed to deals withe WWE.

4. Walter

Walter certainly made his mark on WWE officials, so much so that they convinced him to sign with NXT. He had originally not wanted to relocate to Florida for NXT, but with the emergence of NXT UK this year, he changed his tune.

Working for the UK brand would allow him to stay in Europe, although he'd be unable to work for indie promotions throughout the continent.

He's expected to be 'in the crowd' at some point during NXT UK: Blackpool, leaving one less free agent for the others since WWE has gobbled him up.

3. ACH

ACH was reportedly upset with his role in ROH.
ACH was reportedly upset with his role in ROH.

The high-flying ACH had been a mainstay in ROH but he recently has been working for NJPW and AAW. He had mentioned at a show that he was having trouble with his 'professional wife' and that dig was seen as a shot at ROH.

He's been competing in the junior heavyweight division in NJPW and is an extremely gifted high-flyer in the veins of Will Ospreay, Richochet and Fenix. Since 205 Live might be folding in the near future, it might be a good sign because ACH would have likely been shipped there.

He would be great for NXT at first and his character can be built up from there. ACH is an entertaining guy so hopefully he can be booked in the way he felt he should have been in ROH.

It might be hard to do so, though, with so many talented wrestlers already in NXT and rumored to be heading there in January.

2. Trevor Lee

About a year or two ago, Trevor Lee was at the top of the X Divison in Impact Wresting.

But with the additions of so many talented wrestlers like Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Fenix, Pentagon Jr., Dezmond Xavier, Brian Cage, and Matt Sydal competing for the belt, someone was going to get left out. Unfortunately for Lee, he was the one to fall out of the picture.

His last match on TV was in a losing effort to Trey Miguel in an Ultimate X Qualifying match for Homecoming in January.

It was said that between when the episode the match was on was taped and when it aired, Lee asked Impact for his release.

It was granted and he's apparently headed to NXT. He's still in his mid 20s and has shown both a high-flying side and a technical side. His nickname was 'the Technical Savage'.

Depending on whoever else shows up in NXT next month, Lee will likely be one of the wrestlers to debut sooner rather than later due to his experience.

1. Jonah Rock

The King of the Monsters is on his way to WWE.

I'll be honest - I didn't know who Rock was until last month.

I don't really know of the promotions in Australia, only that a boatload of talent from there and New Zealand currently grace the WWE.

From Australia alone we have Buddy Murphy, the IIconics, Shane Thorne and Rhea Ripley. Add in New Zealand and we have Dakota Kai, Travis Banks and Toni Storm.

Rock has been in some of the indie promotions on the west coast of the US and has apparently caught the attention of WWE.

He was previously a part of the stable TMDK, also known as The Mighty Don't Kneel, along with Shane Thorne and former NXT wrestler Nick Miller.

He's a big dude, has a good look and has a great nickname in the King of the Monsters. He'll likely start with NXT in January.

Might he reunite with Thorne now that Miller is gone?
