WWE: 5 things that must happen on Raw and SmackDown Live this week

Will Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman be able to keep their love for the Universal Championship aside?

Over the past few weeks, WWE produced a few decent episodes of Raw, a string of good episodes from SmackDown, and a very good pay-per-view event in SummerSlam. Yet, the quality of show somewhat dipped last week.

After an average episode of Raw which was followed by an equally average episode of SmackDown Live, the company needs to pull its socks up with Clash of Champions in the horizon.

With a roster filled with the most talented Superstars in the world and the quarter-finals of the King of the Ring tournament lined up, WWE can surely increase the quality of shows during the forthcoming episodes.

In this article, we will look at the five things WWE must do to make the next episode of Raw and SmackDown a lot more successful.

#5 Bray Wyatt attacks his former tag team partner

No one is safe from The Fiend
No one is safe from The Fiend

Bray Wyatt’s new persona has got everyone talking, and The Fiend has become one of the biggest hits of the year with the social media crowd.

With all that popularity pouring in, Wyatt’s former partner Matt Hardy has been watching and appreciating his friend’s work. Recently, Hardy revealed that he would like to work with Wyatt again and stated:

I would not say no to that. I am a big fan of Bray and we’re good friends on a personal level. I am a big fan of his work, I am a big fan of his creative thought process and he’s excellent at what he does. I hope he gets the proper opportunity with all this because I think it is gonna be a grand slam.

WWE could use this in an angle to give The Fiend a definite boost by bringing Matt Hardy to the center of the ring to request the real Bray Wyatt to return and to stop attacking WWE Legends. This could bring out The Fiend to answer Matt instead with a Mandible Claw to close out the segment and make The Fiend even more merciless.

#2 Andrade and Chad Gable have a fantastic match

During the first round matches of the King of the Ring tournament, Andrade defeated Apollo Crews to progress in the tournament while Chad Gable rolled up Shelton Benjamin to progress.

While Andrade and Apollo had a decent match where both men got some time to shine, Gable and Benjamin seemed to have a rushed match where a lot was left to be displayed.

Now that the two will meet in the quarter-finals on SmackDown Live this week, WWE should really give them some time and spotlight. Both men are the future stars of the company, and WWE has the perfect chance to boost them both at the same time even if neither go on to win the tournament.

Andrade and Gable should give us a match to remember on SmackDown such that fans and critics are forced to talk about them even after the night ends that will hand them a popularity boost.

#3 Tensions rise between Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman

The creatives should make things extremely tense between these two men

As the new Raw Tag Team Champions, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman still have a lot to prove to the WWE Universe. The unlikely tag team, both of who were once a part of different top factions are now holding the company’s top tag titles together in a roster filled with some of the best traditional tag teams in the world.

Keeping that in mind, a lot of Superstars will be envious of their current status and will be looking to target the two Superstars who are set to defend their tag championships at Clash of Champions before going head to head against each other for the Universal Championship.

The O.C. or Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode should work on the tension between the two Superstars and make them rise by either targeting the two with the mic or in the ring, causing them to lose trust in each other.

#4 Samoa Joe comes one step closer to becoming the King

During the first round matches of the 2019 King of the Ring, Samoa Joe took out the equally good Cesaro in one of the best matches of the month and progressed to the quarter-final. He will now face Ricochet who overcame all odds to defeat one of the favorites Drew McIntyre to progress in the tournament.

Joe specializes in putting down smaller opponents and may have found the right man to compete against in the quarter-finals. We have seen Joe dominate Rey Mysterio earlier, and we could see him do the same to Ricochet on Monday Night.

As one of the premier athletes in the quarterfinals, Joe seems like the best man to win the tournament and use the title of King to the best effect in his promos. Heels have usually used titles in their favor much better than babyfaces to annoy the WWE Universe, and this could be the boost that Joe needs to shoot to the top of the roster.

#5 Daniel Bryan expresses his anger

After weeks of spinning the story around, Roman Reigns delivered a massive spear to Daniel Bryan to indicate who he believed was the man behind the mystery attacks on him.

Even though Rowan was allegedly spotted at the scene of the crime through the CCTV footage, fans believ that Bryan was the mastermind behind the attacks and Rowan was just the henchman.

Daniel Bryan tried his best to prove his innocence, and will not be happy with how his explanations were met with a spear by The Big Dog. Expect The Planet’s Champion to come out on SmackDown Live and express his anger at Rowan, Roman Reigns, and the entire WWE Universe. But WWE shouldn’t just stop there, as they should allow Rowan or someone to come out and speak against Bryan to make things more complicated and interesting.

Will WWE give us a match between the teams of Daniel Bryan and Rowan against Roman Reigns and Buddy Murphy? Or will they jump to the bigger clash between Bryan and Reigns sometime soon? We will find out this Tuesday on SmackDown Live!
