5 Times babyfaces went berserk on another WWE Superstar

Even the most lovable of babyfaces aren’t completely good guys

Baby Faces are obviously the ‘all-good’ heroes of a wrestling promotion. They are the epitome of everything good and honourable. But sometimes, when these babyfaces are in an extremely heated feud, they tend to go berserk on their opponents.

And when they do, they make those barbaric and chaotic heels look like kindergarten boys. Here’s 5 Times Baby Faces went absolutely nuts.

#5 Alberto Del Rio destroys Dolph Ziggler at Payback

Ziggler paid a heavy price for cashing in his MITB briefcase on Alberto Del Rio

Who can forget the iconic Money In The Bank cash-in Dolph Ziggler made on Alberto Del Rio’s World Heavyweight Title on the night after Wrestlemania 29. An injured Del Rio, who was a face at the time, sat at the ringside helplessly as Dolph Ziggler marched towards the ring to take his title away from him.

Frustration had taken over Del Rio after he failed to retain the title at Extreme Rules the next month. The feud got heated up by the time Payback arrived. Before the match, Del Rio walked into the squared-circle as a face while World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler walked in as a heel.

This all changed when the bell rung.

Alberto Del Rio unleashed his wrath on Dolph Ziggler through consecutive Super Kicks to the face and innumerable suplexes.

He made Dolph crawl and struggle to even get up, as he smiled at his misery.

Fans’ cheers started transitioning into loud boos. At one point, even the referee came in to ask Del Rio to end it. And he did, with another massive superkick to Dolph’s head and took away the Championship.

There was a double turn that night. Dolph won the fans’ heart and Del Rio, despite getting booed out of the building, left with the belt.

#4 The Hitman Breaks the Rattle Snake’s Ankle.

One of the most iconic double turns in WWE history

Bret “The Hitman” Hart versus Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13 is one of the most treasured matches in the history of WWE. The match had a No-DQ Submission with UFC Hall Of Famer and former WWE Intercontinental Champion Ken Shammrock as the guest refree.

Hart walked into the squared circle as the fan favorite baby face, and Austin entered as the heel that everyone loved to hate. Stone Cold Steve Austin was suffering from a knee injury at that time but it wasn’t that big. As soon as the bell rung, Bret started to target Austin’s injured knee, aimed at making him suffer.

He sold a stunner here and there but that didn’t stop him from doing something that would turn him heel. Bret introduced a steel chair to the match and viciously attacked Austin with the weapon, mostly to the injured knee.

Austin was put into a number of vicious Sharpshooters and was utterly destroyed by Hart. But the Rattlesnake didn’t tapout. He struggled until he fell unconscious as Hart proceeded to break his ankle. Hart won the match but Stone Cold won the hearts and respects of thousands in the audience and millions watching at home.

#3 Sheamus makes The Giant beg for mercy.

Sheamus broke the giant

The Celtic Warrior and The World’s Largest Athlete feuded for the World Heavyweight Championship in late 2012.

At Survivor Series, the two had a pretty good match too.

In spite of Sheamus dominating the whole match, Big Show used the match referee as a distraction and as a result, lost by Disqualification but retained the title.

As a result, the angered Celtic Warrior took a steel chair and unleashed his wrath on the World’s Largest Athlete. Chair shot after chair shot after chair shot followed. Sheamus destroyed the 7 ft tall giant.

He only stopped when Big Show repeatedly begged him to show mercy. The mercy however, came after Sheamus delivered a Brogue Kick and knocked the giant out. You do not mess with the Celtic Warrior.

#2 Shane McMahon takes the leap of faith.

Beserk is a understatement to describe this spot

Shane McMahon is the epitome of extreme. He is a man who has a career full of extreme moments.

At this year’s Wrestlemania he was put up against the Undertaker by his father Vince McMahon. Two 45+ year olds going at it like they were still in their prime is something we don’t see everyday. Even though Shane ‘O Mac was out for half a decade, he fought like he was still in the Attitude Era.

Both men put up a solid match. During the match, Shane set Undertaker up on an announce table and started to climb the Cell!

The chants of “Shane don’t do it” and “Shane please stop” echoed all around the building.

The worst part though, was that Shane’s family was sitting in the front row. Yet, he made the climb and got ready to hit a flying elbow from all the way on top of the Hell in a Cell.

The fans were in shock and so were the millions watching from home. The prodigal son made the leap of faith but the Deadman moved out of the way. Shane went directly through the table. Everyone in the building was shocked, including the Undertaker.

Medics were called to check in on Shane but they backed off when he tried to get up. The Deadman duly won the match but Shane had stole the show.

A stretcher was called out and he was then taken backstage. On the way though, he let his fans know that he was alright by giving a thumbs up. What a man!

1# Undertaker punishes Maven.

The Undertaker’s mean streak was on full evidence here

At Royal Rumble 2002, Maven received the most vicious beatings of all time. Undertaker and Maven were the only two men in the ring when suddenly, Taker was ambushed by Matt Hardy (whom Taker had eliminated earlier), Jeff Hardy and Lita.

Undertaker cleared the ring like the American Badass he is and stared them down as the Hardys left. Suddenly he received a drop kick to the back from Maven and fell out of the ring. Maven had eliminated the Undertaker.

Yes. This happened.

The crowd exploded as the newbie celebrated while the Undertaker got ready to unleash hell upon him. The Phenom got back into the ring and destroyed Maven with punches and kicks. Then, he took him out of the ring and gave him a vicious chair shot.

More beating followed before he took him through the crowd all the way to the exit of the building. Taker dragged Maven like he was his toy and bashed him through the entire way.

He even put Maven through a pop-corn machine while the crowd watched in terror. He then proceeded to continue the beating as the camera went off.

Paying your dues, anyone?
