5 Wrestlers with the worst blade scars

Looks like a Klingon

Blading isn’t as harmless as some people think. Many wrestlers wear the after effects of blading from their days of wrestling.

Wrestling fans know that blood does not come from a capsule or fake blood capsules like many non-wrestling fans believe. Blading is a real thing, just as the blood is. A quick slice with a razor and the blood comes oozing out.

But wearing the crimson mask has long lasting consequences for some wrestler’s faces.

Here are 5 wrestlers with some of the most hideous scars from blading in wrestling.

#5 Sabu

Sabu

It’s sometimes hard to believe that Sabu even made it this far.

Most people remember Sabu from his ECW days, where he quickly established himself as hardcore, when he would break tables with his own body if he couldn’t put his opponent through one in a match.

Through constant blading over the years Sabu has racked up quite a few scars over his body with some most noticeably on his forehead.

#4 Balls Mahoney

The Late Balls Mahoney

The late Balls Mahoney spent most of his career dishing out chair shot after chair shot.

He also, evidently, did his fair share of blading. As you can tell by his scarred forehead above it certainly looks as though he has done his fair share of blading.

He has enough hair to camouflage it if he chooses to do so, which unfortunately can’t be said for some wrestlers.

#3 Ric Flair

Flair’s scars show without the makeup

Flair has bladed so much over his long career that wiping the sweat from his brow might cause him to bleed.

In 2002 Shawn Michaels and Triple H were having a 2 out of 3 falls match where Ric Flair decided to get involved in the second fall. It wasn’t long before he was blading himself. It almost leads to the expression, “As excited as Ric Flair with a razor Blade.”

At almost seventy years of age, he looks like a senior citizen who kept falling down face first.

#2 Dusty Rhodes

The American Dream

The late great Dusty Rhodes gave everything he had to the wrestling business.

The phrase, “gave his blood, sweat and tears” is a common one, but it The American Dream really did give all those to the business.

Rhodes wrestled for nearly 40 years and took a lot of abuse during that time. As one of the first people to really start blading on a consistent basis, Rhodes gave himself a lot of scars to make his matches look bloody, as you can tell by the scars on his face.

#1 Abdullah The Butcher

Are they claw marks?

Abdullah's scars are the most famous in wrestling.

According to Mick Foley, he enjoyed holding poker chips in said scars as a party trick.

Because they go vertically and are so wide, they look more like he got into a fight with a bear that got its claws and scraped his head.

He is one of the most violent men to ever step into a ring, not only did he blade himself, but he also bladed his opponents.
