The latest WWE live event emanated from Bogota, Colombia on Friday, August 23.

A total of eight matches took place on the SmackDown Live show, with titles being defended in the Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan (WWE Championship) and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ali (Intercontinental Championship) matches.

In the absence of SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross, Charlotte Flair battled Ember Moon in the only one-on-one women’s match on the show, while The Kabuki Warriors faced Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose.

Elsewhere on the card, the following matches took place: Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn, Andrade vs. Matt Hardy and Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio.

In this article, let’s take a look at the results from all eight matches.

#1 Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn

Much like Bayley and Sasha Banks, it seems that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will forever be associated with each other in some way for the entirety of their WWE careers.

The opening match of the night in Bogota saw the former Universal Champion pick up a victory over Shinsuke Nakamura’s new hype man with his trademark Stunner finisher.

Result: Kevin Owens def. Sami Zayn

#2 Andrade vs. Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy has been without a storyline on WWE television since an injury to Jeff Hardy forced The Hardy Boyz to relinquish the SmackDown Tag Team Championship shortly after WrestleMania 35.

Since then, Andrade has established himself as one of WWE’s top stars of the future with his impressive performances against high-profile names including Rey Mysterio, and he earned another victory over a legendary performer in Bogota by defeating Hardy.

Interestingly, Hardy entered to The Hardy Boyz’s theme music and still used “Delete” taunts throughout the match.

Result: Andrade def. Matt Hardy

#3 Ember Moon vs. Charlotte Flair

Ember Moon has moved away from the SmackDown Women’s Championship picture after losing against Bayley at SummerSlam, while Charlotte Flair has re-entered the title scene by challenging “The Hugger” to a one-on-one match at Clash of Champions on September 15.

Although babyfaces are known to win more often than heels at live events, it is still somewhat surprising that Moon defeated Flair in this battle of former and future SmackDown Women’s Championship contenders.

Result: Ember Moon def. Charlotte Flair

#4 The Kabuki Warriors vs. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville

The Kabuki Warriors failed to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship in consecutive weeks on Raw earlier in August, meaning they are likely going to have to wait for another opportunity to challenge Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross for the titles.

Their long-term rivals, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, were defeated by the tag champs on the most recent episode of Raw, and they were on the receiving end of another loss against Asuka & Kairi Sane at WWE’s latest live event.

Result: The Kabuki Warriors def. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville

#5 Samoa Joe vs. Roman Reigns (street fight)

One of the most intriguing storyline developments in recent weeks came on the August 5 episode of Raw when Samoa Joe came to Roman Reigns’ rescue after the former Shield member narrowly avoided being hit by a car in the parking lot.

From an on-screen storyline perspective, it is unclear right now whether the two men are still enemies or unlikely allies. Off-screen, meanwhile, they continue to battle it out at live events, including in Bogota, where they faced off in a street fight.

The match came to an end when Reigns launched Joe through a table in the corner of the ring with a spectacular spear before pinning him for the 1-2-3.

Result: Roman Reigns def. Samoa Joe

#6 Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ali (Intercontinental Championship)

Ali recently confirmed on Twitter that WWE has abandoned plans for him to feud with Shinsuke Nakamura on SmackDown Live over the Intercontinental Championship.

That does not appear to be the case at live events, however, as Nakamura retained his title against the former 205 Live Superstar in one of two championship encounters in Bogota.

Result: Shinsuke Nakamura def. Ali

#7 Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio

One of Rey Mysterio’s most memorable rivalries upon his return to WWE came in November-December 2018 when he fought Randy Orton at the Crown Jewel and TLC pay-per-views.

“The Viper” is busy dealing with Kofi Kingston and the rest of The New Day in WWE’s on-screen storylines right now. However, in Bogota, fans were given a reminder of the Orton vs. Mysterio feud when the 13-time World Champion recorded a statement-making win over the masked Superstar.

The finish came when Orton quickly countered a top-rope splash from Mysterio to hit his legendary opponent with an incredible RKO.

Result: Randy Orton def. Rey Mysterio

#8 Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan (WWE Championship)

Although Kofi Kingston vs. Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns is the direction that WWE is going in on television ahead of Clash of Champions, fans were treated to a WrestleMania 35 rematch between former WWE Championship rivals Kingston and Bryan in Bogota.

With Big E and Erick Rowan at ringside, Kingston was able to record yet another win over “The Planet’s Champion” to keep hold of the title that he has held for almost five months.

Result: Kofi Kingston def. Daniel Bryan
