WWE Clash of Champions 2020 - 5 things that should not happen at any cost

Let's hope these mistakes aren't made at this weekend's PPV
Let's hope these mistakes aren't made at this weekend's PPV

While this weekend's WWE Clash of Champions 2020 card is very predictable indeed, at least from a results standpoint, there is no reason at all why it cannot be a good show. Honestly speaking, the men and women of WWE have proved time and again, that even if the storytelling aspect of the show often lets them down, they are committed to telling their own stories between the ropes and such can be the case at WWE Clash of Champions 2020, this weekend.

However, Vince McMahon, Bruce Prichard, and the rest of the WWE think-tank need to be aware of the fact that if the following mistakes are made at WWE Clash of Champions 2020, it could have a negative and adverse impact on the overall product. And yes, so these mistakes should be avoided at the show, at any cost.

If you feel otherwise, feel free to weigh in, in the comments section below, with your thoughts and opinions.

#5 Not having Alexa Bliss involved at WWE Clash of Champions 2020 in any capacity

Whenever there's a sense of mystery around a storyline, be it on a TV show such as LOST or Westworld or the similarly scripted world of WWE, it draws a viewer in, to the point where he/she wants to know what's next for his/her favorite character.

No, nobody knows what's happening with Alexa Bliss right now, but what we do know is that, much like everyone who has come into contact with The Fiend, she too has changed and those two words - 'The Fiend', bring about a transformation in her.

To not have her involved in some capacity at WWE Clash of Champions 2020, maybe by having her turn on Nikki Cross and cost her the Championship would be a very major missed opportunity.

#4 Having Nikki Cross upset Bayley at WWE Clash of Champions 2020 to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion

Even though Nikki Cross and Bayley have been booked to clash at the appropriately titled WWE Clash of Champions 2020 pay-per-view event, bear in mind that Nikki Cross vs. Alexa Bliss is a far more engrossing storyline at this point because we do not know where it is headed.

And when it comes to Bayley, yes, she is pretty much going to have a really solid and good match with Nikki Cross at WWE Clash of Champions 2020, but does anyone really want Nikki Cross to dethrone Bayley when she has been such a commendable heel, after being hailed as the next John Cena back during her 'hugger' run?

Bayley vs. Sasha Banks is the money program and it is pretty much guaranteed after WWE Clash of Champions 2020.

For Nikki Cross to become the SmackDown Women's Champion at WWE Clash of Champions 2020 would disrupt this storyline, something that so many people are invested in.

#3 Having Zelina Vega cause a major upset at WWE Clash of Champions 2020 by becoming the RAW Women's Champion

Zelina Vega is perhaps the best manager in the RAW roster, but putting the title around her waist at WWE Clash of Champions 2020 would be a very big mistake because Asuka is on fire right now. She needs to tussle with the likes of Bianca Belair and maybe even Peyton Royce for the RAW Women's Championship after WWE Clash of Champions 2020 to elevate those women in the process, and for her to do so, she cannot afford to lose the title that she carries presently.

With all due respect to Zelina Vega, who has been an indispensable component of RAW until now, the contest between Asuka and her at WWE Clash of Champions 2020, should be short and sweet.

Asuka should steamroll through her opponent and destroy her at WWE Clash of Champions 2020, to kick off the event. Zelina Vega's time is not now, and she's unfortunately, not even in the same league as Asuka at the moment.

#2 Having Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott cause the ultimate upset at WWE Clash of Champions 2020 to become the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions

No, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler are not on the same page, but they should not lose the WWE Women's Championships at WWE Clash of Champions 2020 because they are dominant champions and should be portrayed as such. In time, maybe an alliance such as a darker Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross could reunite and come together to take them down. But at WWE Clash of Champions 2020, the story needs to be told that despite their differences, they are a cohesive unit.

As gifted as Ruby Riott is and as promising as Liv Morgan are, it just seems a little premature for them to become the faces of the women's tag team division at WWE Clash of Champions 2020, because there is no emotional investment in their characters.

It was possibly even a mistake reuniting the Riott Squad of them considering that they had gone their separate ways and not done much since then.

#1 Putting the Universal Championship, at WWE Clash of Champions 2020, around Jey Uso's waist

As Roman Reigns stressed during the course of SmackDown, Jey Uso is not a pushover by any means, if you consider all of his accomplishments in a tag team domain. But one has to admit that he is just not ready to become the face of the company at WWE Clash of Champions 2020 by dethroning Roman Reigns, who is the best that he has ever been, in his current run.

Yes, Jey Uso and Roman Reigns can tear the house down at WWE Clash of Champions 2020 and they probably will, but Roman Reigns should carry the Universal Championship all the way until WrestleMania 37.

A lot of people are under the impression that because Roman Reigns got the last laugh on the final episode of SmackDown before WWE Clash of Champions 2020 that it will be Jey Uso who causes the ultimate upset at the show. Not only is this unlikely, but it would be unwise to do so at WWE Clash of Champions 2020, in the interest of the product.
