Can these friendships withstand the test of time?
Can these friendships withstand the test of time?

WWE Crown Jewel 2019 will feature the likes of Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez, Braun Strowman and Tyson Fury. However, one of the biggest attractions of the show is still the Universal Championship bout that will see Seth Rollins take on The Fiend.

While we have several interesting matches on the card, no pay-per-view is complete without its fair share of shocking heel turns. Superstars being betrayed by their most trusted friends in the business always make for engaging storylines.

Therefore, could we see something similar at the upcoming PPV?

In this list, we take a look at the three most shocking betrayals that can transpire at Crown Jewel.

#3 Big E turns on Kofi Kingston

What's next for The New Day?
What's next for The New Day?

The New Day are one of the most celebrated tag teams in the history of WWE. Since Xavier Woods is out due to an injury that he sustained during a live show, Kofi Kingston and Big E will represent the iconic stable in the Tag Team Turmoil match.

While they certainly deserve to be called the ‘Best in the World’, WWE creatives might have different plans for them. Big E and Woods dropped their titles at Clash of Champions 2019 after losing to The Revival. Additionally, Kofi Kingston lost to Brock Lesnar within seconds which ended his dream run as the WWE Champion.

Interestingly, none of them have addressed this monumental loss. Some have speculated that Kingston will eventually show heelish tendencies while others believe that a shot at the WWE Championship for Big E will lay down the path for his heel turn.

However, maybe this time these two Superstars will end up thinking about themselves. If WWE wishes to continue billing Kingston as the babyface, they can have Big E attack him once they end up losing in the Tag Team Turmoil match.

Both these Superstars are incredibly talented and will engage in an epic feud that can end when Woods finally returns from his injury. It would make for an unforgettable storyline and hopefully, will create new opportunities for both these Superstars.

#2 Drew McIntyre attacks Ric Flair

Drew McIntyre is one of the most talented Superstars in WWE today. He was reportedly in line for a huge push that would have seen him challenge Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship. Unfortunately, Rollins started feuding with The Fiend and the above-mentioned plans were derailed.

At Crown Jewel, McIntyre will participate in Team Flair vs Team Hogan and will represent the former alongside the likes of Randy Orton, Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Shinsuke Nakamura. They will lock horns with Team Hogan that features Roman Reigns, Shorty G, Ali, Ricochet, and Rusev.

Most of the WWE Superstars involved in this match have a personal rivalry with the members of the opposite team. McIntyre, on the other hand, is yet to initiate a full-fledged rivalry since being drafted to RAW earlier this month.

Despite being a heel, McIntyre has always stood against the idea of Legends being in the spotlight instead of the young talent. Thus, he may end up attacking Ric Flair to make a statement.

It is interesting to note that Ric Flair recently confirmed that he has been medically cleared for in-ring action at Crown Jewel. Hence, he may end up taking bumps in order to initiate another storyline on the Red brand.

The creatives will then use these actions to present McIntyre as a brutal heel and have ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ feud with Rollins after the pay-per-view.

#1 Seth Rollins turns heel; attacks Team Hogan during main event

Will 'The Architect' finally turn heel to protect his gold?
Will 'The Architect' finally turn heel to protect his gold?

Seth Rollins is extremely over with the WWE Universe but his recent run as a babyface has started to look stale. Ever since he started feuding with The Fiend, the fans have shown less and less interest in backing his ‘too-good-to-be-true’ image.

The best way for WWE to win back all the fans that the top Superstar of the company has lost is to have him turn heel at Crown Jewel. The creatives have been teasing a monumental shift in Rollins’ character for several weeks now.

The Fiend’s mind games and their impact on ‘The Architect’ are evident and subtly indicate towards a possible heel turn for the latter in the near future.

As per the reports, The Fiend and Rollins are set to feud for the entire month of November. They are even scheduled to compete in a Steel Cage match on RAW next week.

Maybe WWE will have The Fiend win the Universal Championship which will make up for the controversial finish of their match at Hell in a Cell. Following that, an irked Rollins can interfere in the main event and attack the members of Team Hogan. Can you imagine the reaction when he takes down Roman Reigns?

This booking will definitely take the fans by surprise who will end up rooting for him once again. After all, we all know that Seth Rollins is a much better heel as compared to a 'white meat' babyface.
