Crown Jewel is just a few weeks away, and WWE have scheduled some big matches for their big event in Saudi Arabia. To make the event a huge success, they have introduced many legendary Superstars and athletes from other sports to make bookings worth the hype.

At the event, we will see a 5-on-5 Tag Team Match between 'Team Flair' and 'Team Hogan'. When The Miz announced the match with Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan in the ring, the latter introduced Seth Rollins as his team captain, while Randy Orton made an entry as the captain of Ric Flair’s team.

However, WWE have decided to pull Rollins from the match as he is set to take on “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a Falls Count Anywhere Match for the Universal Championship at the event.

Now that the captain’s post is vacant in Team Hogan, and we’re seeing that Team Flair is shaping up to be a heel team while Team Hogan has more babyfaces, we'll take a look at 5 babyfaces who could be inducted into Team Hogan and be appointed the team’s captain.

#1 Shorty Gable

Chad Gable could get a major push from this position

Chad Gable had been a tag team specialist and a mid-carder for most of his run in NXT and the main roster. After competing in the 2019 King of the Ring tournament, Gable saw his stocks rise massively as he defied all odds to reach the finals of the tournament.

While it seemed likely that WWE would give him the ultimate push and have him win the tournament, the bigger star Baron Corbin ended up hampering Gable’s rise and took the victory instead.

Since then, the two men have been competing with each other, and Gable won in their last encounter. In that case, Hogan could make Gable his team captain to further infuriate Corbin who is on the opposite team.

If WWE is planning on continuing with Gable as a major competitor, then this could help increase his international fame. On top of that, Gable has been seen as an All-American competitor and is a former Olympian. This could work well with Hogan’s image and therefore making Gable the team captain won't raise too many eyebrows.

#2 Aleister Black

Aleister Black can take over Team Hogan and leave a huge mark

One of NXT’s biggest exports has struggled to get big matches and bookings on televised shows.

Aleister Black was one of NXT’s most dominant champion, and currently, he’s the most underrated and well-respected babyfaces on the main roster.

Keeping that in mind, WWE could provide Black with a huge push by making him the captain of Team Hogan. Black is explosive in the ring and has a great mind that has proven him to be one of the most cunning competitors in the ring.

Leading a team against Orton will surely benefit him, and make him a huge name in the days to come. An Orton vs. Black face-off will be incredible and could open the doors to a future rivalry between the two Superstars.

Team Hogan already has Ricochet added, and Black proved to make a great team with Ricochet when the two moved to the main roster. Their chemistry could work well in a clash of this magnitude, and Black will definitely have a lot to gain if the company decides to put their trust in him once again.

#3 Kevin Owens

KO could take over the reins from Seth Rollins
KO could take over the reins from Seth Rollins

Kevin Owens has been one of the best in-ring performers and mic workers the company has seen in recent years. He was involved in an elaborate rivalry with Shane McMahon and he was the man who managed to fire Vince’s son on the season premiere of SmackDown.

KO wasn’t really happy as he was moved from SmackDown to Raw in the third round of the draft and took to social media to express his unhappiness.

Since KO is really hot with the fans at the moment and is playing a really good babyface character, he could really be used well in this match and be added to Team Hogan as its captain.

Owens is a great team player and has shown his worth many times in the past. With him and Orton on the Red brand, we could see the company brew a storm between them which could spillover outside the Crown Jewel main event, once the match is done and dusted.

The company will be looking to build major feuds for the future, and the ones involving KO, have always been extremely indulging. Keeping that in mind, it would work to have KO lead Team Hogan and allow him to pick one Superstar from the opposite team to get more involved in the brawl and have a major feud to work with post-PPV.

#4 Kofi Kingston

This could be a great assignment for the leader of The New Day
This could be a great assignment for the leader of The New Day

WWE loves to revisit old rivalries, and the one between Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton has certainly been one of the best in recent memory.

Kofi and Orton recently competed from the WWE Championship which Kofi was holding at the time, and they had some great matches which are still fresh in the fan’s memories. This could be revisited, and Hogan could go ahead and pick Kofi as his team captain.

Since he was the WWE Champion and managed to get the entire WWE Universe behind him, it would be beneficial for the company to have a big Superstar with the backing of the fans take over the captaincy.

The New Day is already scheduled to compete in the 9-team Tag Team Turmoil Match for the WWE World Cup, and we’ll see two of the three members be a part of the event at least. Since Kofi is the leader of the faction and the biggest Superstar in the group, it’d make sense to have him compete in another match. All three members of The New Day are very popular with the international fans who will get behind each member during their respective matches.

#5 Roman Reigns

Who could be a better replacement than The Big Dog?
Who could be a better replacement than The Big Dog?

The biggest and best pick that Team Hogan can make is the 'Big Dog'. Roman Reigns is arguably the biggest player on the SmackDown brand and needs to get into some interesting feuds to make his stay on the Blue brand memorable.

Currently, the former Universal Champion has no direction or rivalries for the Crown Jewel event, and his inclusion into Team Hogan can come as a blessing in disguise for the Superstar, the team, and the Kingdom.

Reigns has been on the promotional material for the Crown Jewel event even though there is no indication of who he will face at the event. In that case, he could be added to Team Hogan and made its captain as he is the most qualified person to take over the reins from Seth Rollins.

Saudi Arabia will definitely be looking to watch The Big Dog perform once again in the country, and therefore this can help the company give Reigns a big match and the fans a big moment to remember.

Randy Orton, who has now moved to the RAW brand, is one of the faces of the men’s roster there and is leading Team Flair. In that case, it would make perfect sense to have the leader of the SmackDown men’s locker room lead the other team and make the match even bigger than it already is.
