WWE will return to Saudi Arabia on 31st October to conduct the second edition of WWE Crown Jewel. Unlike last year, WWE has not organized a singles tournament for the WWE World Cup, instead, they have preferred to set up the largest Tag Team Turmoil match in WWE history to determine ‘The Best Tag Team in the World’.

As of 27th October, WWE has announced nine participants for this contest namely The OC, The Revival, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, Lucha House Party, The B-Team, Heavy Machinery, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, The New Day, and The Viking Raiders. The fans expect the Usos to join the other tag teams in this match as well, however, there has been no official announcement of the same till now.

At Crown Jewel 2018, Shane McMahon had controversially emerged as ‘The Best in the World’ after making a direct entry into the final of the tournament. But, WWE will look to improve its booking from the last year.

On that note, let us now have a look at the 5 tag teams which could win the WWE World Cup at Crown Jewel 2019:

#5 The OC

As AJ Styles will defend his United States Championship on the Crown Jewel match-card, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson will represent The OC in the Tag Team Turmoil match. Gallows and Anderson had recently won the RAW Tag Team Championships but WWE messed up their reign by involving Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman in the Tag Team title picture.

The OC then got lost in the mix as the team of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler won the championships from Rollins and Strowman at Clash of Champions. Next, the Viking Raiders seized the gold as Roode and Ziggler were going to SmackDown.

The WWE Universe has always admired the team of Gallows and Anderson, and WWE should establish them as a relevant tag team instead of having them play the role of sidekicks to Styles.

Since the Viking Raiders have recently won the championships, the WWE Creative should not thrust The OC into the title picture, but they can allow them to win the World Cup so that their rivalry with the Street Profits can obtain more attention.

#4 Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler

WWE had raised a lot of eyebrows when they pushed the newly formed team of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler into the RAW Tag Team Championships feud straightaway. The duo picked up their first tag team titles in their first pay-per-view match itself as things looked great for the underutilized pair of Ziggler and Roode.

Since both the Superstars are excellent in-ring technicians, the fans expected them to have a lengthier reign with the Championships. However, a shift to SmackDown during the Draft meant that they had to finish their reign early. The Viking Raiders rightfully conquered them in a title match on RAW and it seemed like this pair would not enjoy much success on SmackDown.

Roode and Ziggler lost their first match on the Blue brand but WWE booked them to defeat the New Day on the go-home episode of Crown Jewel. While it is a general perception that the superstars who prevail on the go-home shows usually lose at the pay-per-views still one should note that Roode and Ziggler did not stand tall at the end of the segment as they were tormented by the New Day and Heavy Machinery.

Given that their Tag Team title reign came to a precipitous closure, WWE may look to make up for that loss by allowing Roode and Ziggler to pick up a massive win at Crown Jewel.

#3 The New Day

Things seem to be going downhill for the New Day since September 2019 as Kofi Kingston lost his WWE Championship to Brock Lesnar on SmackDown’s FOX debut while Big E and Xavier Woods had dropped the SmackDown Tag Team Championships to the Revival at Clash of Champions 2019. Also, Woods suffered a severe injury at a live event in Australia recently.

WWE needs to push the New Day in the tag team division not only because of the things that have happened with them since the last month but also because the reigning Champions of the Blue brand’s tag team division, The Revival, need credible challengers.

The New Day is the biggest babyface team of the division and provided that there is a lot of history between the two units, WWE should consider booking a fight between the two teams. Since the New Day had fallen short to Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode on SmackDown, it seems like they will receive a push in the Tag Team Turmoil match.

Besides, the WWE officials want the New Day to be recognized as one of the greatest factions in their history, if not the greatest. There’s a reason why they favored the trio of Kingston, Big E and Woods to break the indelible record of Demolition and become the longest-reigning Tag Team Champions in WWE history. Hence, they may look to add more value to the history of the New Day by booking them to win the WWE World Cup.

#2 The Revival

Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson have often asserted themselves to be the finest tag team on the planet, however, their WWE run does not mirror their statements. From receiving start-stop pushes to being booked in odd segments, the Revival surely is not the top tag team in the minds of the creative team. Likewise, if you have a look at their recent SmackDown Tag Team Championship reign, they have done nothing worthwhile since securing the titles.

Though the WWE Creative has not handled the Revival in the best manner so far, they have the golden chance of rectifying their mistakes by allowing them to pull off an outstanding performance at Crown Jewel and win the World Cup. They can later push the Revival as a solid tag team and book a remarkable Tag Team Championship reign.

The WWE Universe knows about the incredible expertise possessed by the Revival, having witnessed some iconic tag team matches during their time in NXT. It is high time WWE allows them to showcase their talent on the big stage and the first stride in that direction is to book Dash and Dawson to achieve the WWE World Cup.

#1 The Viking Raiders

The Viking Raiders won the RAW Tag Team Championships on the WWE Draft special episode of the Red brand by crushing the team of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. This triumph was long overdue as the NXT graduates, Ivar and Erik, had garnered an extensive amount of momentum on the main roster.

WWE booked them in squash matches against enhancement talent before involving them in the high-stakes matches. The Viking Raiders’ only loss had come in a 6-man tag team match on RAW, however, apart from that they have never lost a contest on the main roster.

Since WWE has booked them to best the B-Team, the OC, Robert Roode, and Dolph Ziggler, the New Day, and the team of Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins on RAW, there’s no reason to withhold the Viking Raiders from securing the WWE World Cup at Crown Jewel 2019.

Formerly known as the Viking Experience, Ivar and Erik have even headlined RAW on one occasion. This illustrates how happy the backstage officials are with The Viking Raiders. Hence, they will start as the favorites to win the largest Tag Team Turmoil match on 31st October in Riyadh.
