WWE Crown Jewel 2019: 5 things we secretly learned

And you thought The Fiend was buried after Hell in a Cell?
And you thought The Fiend was buried after Hell in a Cell?

WWE Crown Jewel 2019 ended on a high note with The Fiend winning the Universal Championship after defeating Seth Rollins. We also saw Team Hogan beat Team Flair in a grueling encounter.

One of the biggest highlights of the pay-per-view was the historic match featuring Natalya and Lacey Evans. As per WWE, this was the first-ever women’s wrestling match held in Saudi Arabia. This match will always be important in the history of pro-wrestling business that’s being scripted in this part of the world.

Probably the only disappointing match of the night was the WWE Championship bout featuring Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez as the ‘Beast Incarnate’ made his opponent tap out in less than two minutes to retain his title.

Amidst the several shocking twists in the ongoing storylines, the booking at the recently concluded PPV subtly hinted towards the future storylines.

In this list, we will decipher the facts we secretly learned at Crown Jewel 2019 and their impact on future bookings.

#5 Kofi Kingston will not address his devastating loss to Brock Lesnar; return to mid-card

What happens to Kofi Kingston now?
What happens to Kofi Kingston now?

Former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston lost his title to Brock Lesnar in less than ten seconds. Lesnar took down Kingston with just one F5 on SmackDown’s debut episode on FOX. Later that night, former UFC Champion and Lesnar’s old rival Cain Velasquez was introduced as the latter’s next challenger.

Amidst all of this, the WWE Universe was patiently waiting for Kingston to react to his devastating loss against the 'Beast Incarnate'. But in the last few weeks, we have only seen Kofi talk about positivity and his future without the title.

As disappointing as it may sound, Kingston will soon find himself battling against mid-card talent while representing the New Day. An injured Xavier Woods’ long-term haul from in-ring action may also be the reason why the WWE Creatives want Kofi to stick to the Tag Team division.

Another interesting speculation suggested that Kofi will turn heel. But by the looks of it, he will continue to fight alongside Big E as they gear up to take on the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Revival.

#4 Humberto Carrillo is the next big thing

WWE Creatives can't get enough of this high-flying star
WWE Creatives can't get enough of this high-flying star

WWE have shown immense trust in Humberto Carrillo ever since he made his main roster debut. First, he got the opportunity to square off against Seth Rollins on Monday Night RAW and his performance was appreciated by the WWE Universe.

Next, he went on to fight against AJ Styles and extended that feud to Crown Jewel. He won the 20-men Battle Royal after eliminating Luke Harper and Erick Rowan simultaneously. Following that, he went on to face Styles for the United States Championship.

Despite failing in his attempt to capture the US Title, Carrillo left his mark with his performance last night. He may continue his feud with Styles and might soon find himself challenging the ‘Phenomenal One’ for the United States Championship once again.

Carrillo’s run in the last couple of weeks speaks volumes about the confidence that the creatives have vested in him. He is likely to find himself involved in major feuds in the upcoming weeks. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Carrillo represent the Red brand at the Survivor Series later this month.

#3 Better plans for The OC; the Viking Raiders’ push coming to an end?

The 'Best Tag Team in the World'
The 'Best Tag Team in the World'

WWE Superstars Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have struggled to find their way to the top of the tag team division. But ever since they joined AJ Styles to form The Original Club, this duo has been unstoppable.

They have been involved in engaging rivalries and even managed to get their hands on the RAW Tag Team Championships. Despite the aforementioned facts, I must point out that the recent bookings of The OC ended up showing them as Styles’ sidekicks.

But their win in the largest Tag Team Turmoil match in WWE history may be a sign that the creatives have bigger plans for The OC going forward.

The OC are currently feuding with the Street Profits. The ‘Best Tag Team in the World’ will now look to make this rivalry even more intense.

The Viking Raiders, on the other hand, were pinned for the first time since their WWE debut. It is amazing to see that the newly crowned ‘Best Tag Team in the World’ have made a dent in the clean record of the RAW Tag Team Champions.

Could this be the beginning of a feud between these two teams?

#2 More women’s matches to be booked at the future PPVs held in Saudi Arabia

One for the history books!
One for the history books!

Lacey Evans and Natalya locked horns in one of the most important matches in WWE history. They battled it out in the first-ever women’s wrestling match held in Saudi Arabia amidst roaring chants of ‘This is Awesome’.

Irrespective of the political scenario, this match instigated an emotional response in most of the onlookers. The celebration of this art form took another step in the right direction with these two WWE Superstars inspiring thousands of young girls last night.

Say what you want about the Women’s Evolution in WWE, this match is proof that the company is taking the right measures to promote women’s wrestling.

Considering the overwhelming response to the match between Natalya and Evans, it can be said that the future editions of Crown Jewel will feature more members of the women’s roster taking the stage.

Hopefully, we will see young girls in Saudi Arabia fight for their dreams to become a wrestling Superstar in the future.

#1 The Fiend makes his own rules

Let him in
Let him in

After a disappointing end to their match at Hell in a Cell, The Fiend and Seth Rollins engaged in a brutal encounter that ultimately led to 'The Architect' losing his title.

Last month, The Fiend was drafted to SmackDown and WWE made it clear that the Wild Card rule will no longer be used to facilitate the appearance of certain Superstars on the rival brand.

If we were to believe the above-mentioned facts, it is fair to conclude that both the Universal championship and the WWE Heavyweight Championship will be on the Blue brand.

But can WWE really afford to go on with Monday Night RAW without its most coveted prize?Certainly, The Fiend will appear on the Red brand and it will be interesting to see how WWE manage to find a way around this entire situation.

Maybe Bray Wyatt will remain on SmackDown and The Fiend will appear on RAW. Or maybe, WWE will have The Fiend lose the title to Rollins within a month. As per the reports, the two Superstars are set to feud for the rest of November.

Will The Fiend continue to dominate the roster or will the ‘BeastSlayer’ find a way to beat his biggest nightmare? Stay tuned to find out.
