5 matches that could be announced for WWE Hell in a Cell 2019

We are just days away from the Hell in a Cell PPV, but WWE have announced just three matches so far for the show, which will be held on October 6.

Seth Rollins will defend his Universal title against The Fiend, in an eagerly awaited match, which will most likely close the show, while Becky Lynch will put her RAW Women's title on the line against Sasha Banks.

The third match that has been announced for the show is a tag team match where Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan will join forces to take on Erick Rowan and Luke Harper.

WWE will most likely announce more matches on SmackDown's debut on FOX this Friday, as well as on social media, which they usually do for matches that are of less significance. Sportskeeda's Tom Colohue revealed that WWE will add some matches to the Hell in a Cell card on SmackDown.

Let's take a look at 5 matches that could be announced for WWE Hell in a Cell 2019:

#5 Rusev vs Bobby Lashley

This past week's RAW ended on a shocking note as Bobby Lashley returned to WWE television, and in tow with him was Lana, Rusev's wife. Lashley and Lana kissed as Rusev looked on, shocked at this latest development.

Rusev was in a match against Seth Rollins with the Universal title on the line when Lashley made his return and snogged Lana. Rusev, though, did not lose the match as Rollins was attacked by The Fiend, to close the show.

We could possibly see The Bulgarian Brute face off against Lashley in a singles match, perhaps a no disqualifcation one, which could help this feud gather some steam as Lana could also play a part.

#4 Bayley vs Candice LeRae

Current SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley does not have a match at Hell in a Cell. Bayley defended her title against Charlotte Flair at last month's Clash of Champions PPV. She won and retained her title, but hasn't had a significant feud since.

She has mostly teamed up with Sasha Banks in tag team action, but with Banks facing Becky Lynch for the RAW Women's title, Bayley will perhaps have to be involved in a singles match.

Ahead of this week's NXT show, Bayley paid tribute to NXT Superstar Candice LeRae, who was set to face Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women's Championship. LeRae lost the match, but put on a great show which prompted Bayley to challenge the NXT Superstar to a match at Hell in a Cell, putting her title on the line.

This match makes sense as both Superstars know each other well and can put on a great match. It will also showcase what NXT Superstars are capable of to the casual audience who may not have tuned into the show previously.

#3 AOP or The Viking Raiders vs Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode

Akam and Rezar, AOP, have been repackaged and have had their vignettes aired over the last few weeks on RAW, even attacking a few Superstars backstage to signal their new-found anger.

The former RAW and NXT tag team champions have yet to have a match since being repackaged, but they could feature at Hell in a Cell to challenge current RAW Tag Team champions Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.

Ziggler and Roode faced off against Heavy Machinery this past week on RAW and defeated them, which could indicate that the duo of Otis and Tucker may not get another shot at the tag titles.

The Viking Raiders and The OC also had a match on RAW, where the Raiders picked up a win, and there's a possibility that they could be next in line for a shot at the RAW Tag Team titles as well.

The RAW Tag Team match will most likely be on the pre-show, and we could perhaps see a title change as the team of Ziggler and Roode look like a temporary tag team.

#2 Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens

Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens' feud over on the blue brand continues, despite Owens defeating McMahon at SummerSlam earlier this year.

Owens filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against Shane for a sum of $25 million after being fired by him a few weeks earlier following Shane's match against Chad Gable, where Owens was the referee.

Shane offered to reinstate Owens to the WWE if he dropped the lawsuit, but The Prizefighter said that he wanted junior McMahon to be fired from SmackDown and challenged Shane to a match with a stipulation. If Shane wins the match, Owens will not be reinstated to WWE and his lawsuit will be dropped, but if Owens wins he will be added back to WWE with Shane being fired.

The two will face off in a ladder match on SmackDown's debut on FOX, but I feel that the match could end in dubious circumstances which could prompt a rematch.

This match could potentially take place at Hell in a Cell, where Owens could go on to win, leading to Shane disappearing from WWE television for a while.

#1 Brock Lesnar vs Rey Mysterio vs Kofi Kingston

Brock Lesnar, shockingly, destroyed Rey Mysterio and his son Dominick this past week on RAW ahead of Lesnar's return to SmackDown. Lesnar will have his first SmackDown match in almost 15 years this Friday when he faces WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, with Kingston's title on the line.

Lesnar attacked Mysterio with a few F5s, before venturing into the crowd and pulling out Mysterio's son, landing a brutal attack on Dominick.

It would not be a surprise if Lesnar defeats Kingston and wins the WWE title as WWE may want to start off their new partnership with FOX with a huge story. But, there is a possibility that Mysterio returns to take revenge on Lesnar for attacking him and his son on RAW, resulting in no title change.

We could maybe see Kingston defend his title against both Lesnar and Mysterio at Hell in a Cell, in a massive triple threat match, with Kofi's reign as WWE Champion possibly coming to an end.
