The most prominent Superstars in WWE were ready to undergo a whole lot of pain and torture, as the company brought back the red cell for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
While the company only announced four matches the day prior to the event, several more bouts were announced at the last minute. This included a Kickoff Show battle between Natalya and Lacey Evans, as well as an entertaining bout Randy Orton and Ali.
Although the action was tight throughout the night, the company made some questionable creative decisions, which led to confusion among fans.

#1 Is Braun Strowman going to get back in the United States Championship scene?
Desperate times call for desperate measures, and that is exactly what this bout seemed to be, as WWE struggled to book more last minute matches for the event.
The rushed booking prompted the company to schedule a match between all three members of The OC and The Viking Raiders. Down one man, The Viking Raiders chose Braun Strowman as their partner in the Six Man Tag Team Match.
Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson of The O.C. have been feuding with The Viking Raiders for some time now. The addition of Strowman seemed to be done to increase star power and overall interest in the event.
The two teams battled hard, but the babyfaces had the upper hand for most of the bout. Inevitably, this led to Styles, Gallows, and Anderson delivering a three-on-one beatdown to Strowman. Failing to adhere to the rules set in place, the match ended in disqualification and a win for Strowman and The Viking Raiders
The action wasn’t over just yet, as The Viking Raiders cleared out Gallows and Anderson before Strowman delivered a right hand to Styles to end the segment.
Will this lead to another rivalry between Styles and Strowman for the United States Championship? Strowman has battled Styles for the title before, but was not successful in his efforts. #2 Was this the best way to end Bliss and Cross’ reign?
Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross were arguably having the best Women's Tag Team Championship reign to date. The two were showing up every week and battling in matches, which ensured that the Women's Tag Team Champions were not forgotten. Then came Hell in a Cell.
The match was booked in haste without any build whatsoever. This was unfortunate for the duo, who would have been better served in a feud with actual build against The Kabuki Warriors.
After a good match between both teams, Asuka sprayed green mist in Cross' eyes and scored the victory and the titles for her team.
This was an unfortunate way to end the golden run Bliss and Cross were having, as the two deserved to lose the titles in a match with actual build. There is no doubt that no one deserved to dethrone Bliss and Cross more than Asuka and Kairi Sane, but the company should have allowed some build up to this match, rather than allowing it to happen out of nowhere.
Will the upcoming draft send Bliss and Cross their separate ways? Fans won't have to wait long to find out, as day one of the draft takes place this Friday night on SmackDown.
#3 What’s next for Roman Reigns?
The unlikely tandem of Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan took on the heel team of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper at Hell in a Cell.
Although not much was expected from the match, many were hoping for another heel turn from Daniel Bryan, so that the WWE Universe could get some Reigns/Bryan matches down the line.
Instead, we received a really good tag team match that ended with Reigns and Bryan picking up the win, but no Daniel Bryan heel turn.
Rowan and Harper did extremely well. They always seemed like a credible threat that could legitimately defeat two of WWE's best Superstars. The duo also worked well in selling everything that Reigns and Bryan threw their way.
However, in the end, the biggest question the WWE Universe has is where does Roman Reigns go next? It seems like his rivalry with Rowan and Harper is over and with Bryan staying babyface, there will be no feud with Daniel Bryan in the immediate future.
With a WWE draft on the horizon and Crown Jewel at the end of the month, the company will need to build a rivalry for Reigns from the ground up, if they want one of their biggest Superstars to perform in Saudi Arabia.
At this point, it seems like there is no clear direction for 'The Big Dog.' Hopefully, creative will provide some answers in the coming weeks ahead.
#4 If not Banks, then who?
The match between Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks was one of the most anticipated of the night, and the two Superstars did not disappoint.
This has been one of the most intense rivalries in recent memory. The two competitors put their bodies and careers on the line to ensure they gave fans a memorable Hell in a Cell bout.
The match's intensity was top-notch and gave the fans and the Superstars backstage a taste of what championship rivalries should look like. Lynch took some major bumps and delivered an epic performance that was matched perfectly by Banks.
At the end of the night, Becky Lynch once again stood tall holding the Red Belt high above her head, reminding people why she is 'The Man.'
As Becky has arguably become the face of WWE and even had a huge moment with The Rock a few days ago on Friday Night SmackDown, it makes sense WWE booked the match in her favor and put her on top once again.
However, fans were more than sure that Banks would be the one to dethrone Becky. Now that this rivalry seems to be over, one wonders who will actually be able to dethrone Becky, as she is at the top of her game.
Unless WWE is returning Ronda Rousey soon for a huge match with Lynch, it seems like the company has exhausted its resources while building Becky as the top Superstar. Can anyone dethrone Becky Lynch? The WWE Universe will just have to wait and see.
#5 What was the main event all about?
WWE spent a lot of time on the feud between Seth Rollins and The Fiend. Everything was booked spectacularly and the two Superstars were the talk of the WWE Universe. Scheduled for an epic Hell in a Cell showdown, what could possibly go wrong?
Fans tuned in to the pay-per-view hoping for a great performance from The Fiend, whom they expected to take the Universal Championship away from Rollins. Even though The Fiend had only battled on one televised bout before this huge match, his gimmick had done more than enough for the fans to envision him as the Universal Champion.
While the match was good until its controversial ending, it ended up being an overbooked bout that only someone like Vince McMahon could have enjoyed.
The match was entrenched in an incredible story, yet the company ended up botching everything, giving The Fiend a win through disqualification. Not only did this do injustice to all the build that had taken place, but it also makes one wonder whether the babyface Rollins is capable of defending his Universal Championship without the use of low-blows and other underhanded tactics.
Maybe the company wants more out of this popular feud, which had taken over social media and the WWE Universe in the past few weeks. Maybe WWE wants the rivalry to come to a dramatic finish at Crown Jewel. The way this match was booked did nothing for either Superstar.
