The backstory

Roman Reigns came up to the main roster way back in 2012, as a part of The Shield. Seven years later, Reigns has turned into one of the biggest Superstars of this generation. He has headlined four consecutive WrestleMania events, and has won the top championship on several occasions. Reigns recently made his triumphant return to WWE, months after he left to resume his battle against leukemia.

The Usos, who are also Reigns' cousins, made their WWE debut in 2010, and have won the WWE Tag Team Titles on six different occasions. Trained by their father Rikishi, The Usos are widely regarded as being one of the best tag teams of this era. After not being able to make the WrestleMania main card for years on end, they finally managed to land the spot against The Bludgeon Brothers and The New Day at WrestleMania 34, albeit in a losing effort.

The aftermath

Roman Reigns went on to sign a contract with The Minnesota Vikings in 2007. He was diagnosed with leukemia after his team physical, and was subsequently released. After a less than stellar career in NFL, Reigns retired from the sport in 2008. In 2010, he signed a contract with WWE and was assigned to the developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling. As for The Usos, they have come a long way from being a pair of goofy Samoans during their early run, to a credible team that's bound to enter the WWE Hall of Fame at some point of time in the future.
