The Ironman match

WrestleMania XII is remembered for the first ever 1-hour Ironman match between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. The match, although incredibly slow, was an impressive feat at the time and the competitors managed to keep the fans engaged throughout the one hour period.

The match ended up being a draw with zero pinfalls being scored during the hour, leading to Gorilla Monsoon ordering to continue the match till sudden death, much to the annoyance of Bret Hart.

The entrance

Michaels won the match with a Sweet Chin Music, and as Vince McMahon aptly put it, "the boyhood dream had come true". This wasn't the only thing that the WWE Universe remembers from the legendary night. Michaels made quite possibly the greatest entrance in WWE history, by coming down to the ring from the rafters on a zip-line.

As the sea of fans watched in amazement, Michaels descended towards the ring on the line, rocking his signature flashy attire.

The rehearsal

There's a famous saying in WWE about Vince McMahon: He wouldn't ask someone to do anything he wouldn’t do! Apparently, the rehearsal for the zip-line landing only proved this saying.

It has been around 23 years since Shawn Michaels came down to the ring on the zip-line, but not many know about the rehearsals of the legendary spot, where Vince McMahon himself tested the zip-line before allowing Michaels to try it.

The rare clip has resurfaced and shows Vince testing out the zip-line entrance in an empty arena, with an employee talking about how Vince wouldn't ask anyone to do anything he wouldn't do.

The internet is chock full of wrestling lore detailing Vince McMahon's dedication to the business of professional wrestling, and this hidden gem is another instance that solidifies the fact that Vince McMahon can go to any lengths for the sake of the business.
