What's the story?

Independent star Matthew Riddle recently spoke with Sports Illustrated's Extra Mustard during which he discussed a host of topics, including him possibly signing with WWE and wanting to fight current Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

In case you didn't know...

Matt Riddle is currently one of the top Indy stars and is also a former MMA fighter who was signed with the UFC. Riddle is currently wrestling for various promotions such as PROGRESS Wrestling, Evolve Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Guerilla and more.

Riddle is also a former PROGRESS Atlas Champion, a championship which he lost recently and also remains as the current PWG Tag Team Champion alongside his tag team partner, Jeff Cobb.

The heart of the matter

During the Interview with Sports Illustrated, Riddle talked about numerous topics including his future in wrestling and also him possibly fighting Brock Lesnar in the future.

Riddle stated that he is currently happy with the way things are going for him in the Indies and claimed that he is happy with his current work style and wants to be himself, the "King of Bros".Riddle also talked about WWE and thinks that Vince McMahon's company will make him change his style if he ever signs with them in the future, however, he claimed that he has also seen a lot of top wrestlers on this planet not get signed with the WWE.

On competing against Brock Lesnar:"The King of Bros" had some harsh words for the WWE superstar and called him a bully but also stated that Lesnar is huge and freakish.

"There is not much you can do with that big of a human being. He doesn't like to be pushed around, so I would stay aggressive and not let him dictate the action," Riddle stated.

What's next?

Matt Riddle is currently on a busy schedule in the Indies and has been wrestling for various top promotions around the world. He is also set to make a trip to Australia in 2018 as he gets set to wrestle for World Series Wrestling.

I think Matt Riddle is a top talent in the wrestling world today and seeing him in NJPW will be absolutely amazing. His current partnership with Jeff Cobb is also great and the two can possibly team up in NJPW in the future as well.
