What's the story?

Earlier this week, Mae Young Classic contestant Tessa Blanchard took it to her official Twitter handle and confirmed the news that she will indeed not be signing with the WWE anytime soon.

In case you didn't know...

Tessa Blanchard is the daughter of WWE legend Tully Blanchard and is one of the best female performers in the current Indy Wrestling scene.

Earlier this year, Tessa competed in the inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament where she was unfortunately eliminated in the very first round after a loss to eventual winner Kairi Sane.

Tessa has also wrestled on NXT TV on numerous occasions, however, it was in 2014 when she had her first tryout match with the WWE.

The 22-year-old then would go on and make her official in-ring debut for WWE in 2016, in a losing effort to Alexa Bliss. Blanchard would wrestle on two more occasions for WWE and would end up on the losing side on both occasions, this time against Nia Jax and Carmella respectively.

The heart of the matter

Over the past few months, there have been several reports that have suggested that WWE legend Tully Blanchard's daughter Tessa Blanchard could potentially sign a contract with the WWE, in the near future.

However, those reports now seem to be false as Tessa recently announced that she is now open for Indy bookings in 2018.

The current WrestleCircus Lady of The Ring Champion brought an end to all the speculations and indications of her signing with WWE, as she is now all set to take Independent bookings for next year.

Tessa's tweet caption read: "Now accepting bookings for 2018 #TessaIsForever #Undeniable". The former Shimmer Tag Team Champion also dropped her email address in the tweet, in order for contact purposes for her 2018 Indy bookings.

What's next?

Tessa Blanchard is currently under contract with Shine Wrestling and is also working for Japanese Puroresu promotion, World Wonder Ring Stardom.

Tessa is also competing all over the Independent scene and is currently holding five championships currently all over the Indy scene. The 22-year-old is the current CWF Women's Champion, WrestleCircus Lady of the Ring Champion, WrestleCircus Sideshow Champion, PWX Women's Champion, and EWA Florida Heavyweight Champion.

Tessa will look forward to winning more championships and achieve more goals in the Indy scene in 2018.

Author's take

I think there is currently no need for Tessa to sign with WWE and in my opinion, she is doing absolutely great in the Indy scene.
