WWE News: 3 huge matches confirmed for SmackDown Live

T
Tomorrow's show is gearing up to be great

What's the story?

During RAW, WWE took to social media to announce three huge matches on SmackDown tomorrow - with Daniel Bryan, The Miz and Charlotte all competing in singles action respectively.

The promotional video also suggested that all of those matches will be Money in the Bank Ladder Match qualifying matches.

In case you didn't know...

At the Backlash pay-per-view, Daniel Bryan defeated Big Cass before suffering a beatdown at the hands of the seven-footer. The Miz unsuccessfully challenged for the Intercontinental Championship against Seth Rollins in a match that could have seen him match Chris Jericho's record for the number of times of holding the belt.

Finally, Charlotte unsuccessfully challenged SmackDown Women's Champion Carmella for the title she once held, too.

Tomorrow though, all three are in action against different opponents.

The heart of the matter

WWE took to Twitter to confirm that tomorrow's SmackDown will see Daniel Bryan face off against Rusev, and The Miz will face off against United States Champion Jeff Hardy.

In the Women's Division, Charlotte will go one on one with Peyton Royce - one of the women responsible for her losing her WWE SmackDown Women's Championship in the first place when she and fellow IIconic beat up the Queen before Carmella cashed in her Money In The Bank contract successfully.

While the promotional package shown was vague, it would appear as though all three matches are Money in the Bank Ladder Match qualifying matches with "two of the all-time greats" in Miz and Hardy, and Bryan and Rusev competing for two of the four blue brand spots in the eight-man match. Charlotte and Royce compete for a spot in the Women's match which will feature the same formula of their male counterparts.

What's next?

SmackDown Live takes place tomorrow (8th May) from the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.

Author's take

Well, those are some very interesting matches. Of course, the Charlotte vs Peyton Royce match is somewhat of a grudge match, but Miz vs Jeff Hardy and Rusev vs Daniel Bryan are very much two matches I didn't ever contemplate seeing, but needless to say, I'm very excited for SmackDown Live tomorrow now!
