What’s the story?

SmackDown Live Baron Corbin recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Planeta Wrestling during which he gave his thoughts on the latest rumors of WWE, potentially canceling the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34 and his thoughts on John Cena being added to the main event of this year’s Fastlane pay-per-view.

In case you didn’t know…

Baron Corbin made his main roster debut two years ago at WrestleMania 32 and, immediately made a huge impact by winning the Andre The Giant Battle Royal on his first night on the main roster.

Meanwhile, 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena successfully defeated “The Phenomenal One” AJ Styles, last week on SmackDown Live and confirmed his place in the WWE Championship match at this year’s Fastlane pay-per-view.

The heart of the matter

While speaking with Planeta Wrestling, “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin addressed the rumors of WWE nixing this year’s Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal and more. Here are a few highlights from Corbin’s interview:

On WWE canceling the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34:

Corbin stated that he currently hasn’t come across any of these rumors about WWE possibly canceling the ATG Memorial Battle Royal for this year’s WrestleMania and hasn’t heard anything of that sort, so he has no idea about it.

However, Corbin does believe that the Battle Royal is a part of WrestleMania due to the importance and significance of it, so he hopes that it does stick around for the time being.

On John Cena being added to the Fastlane main-event:

Corbin added that Cena did not steal his spot at the main event of this year’s Fastlane, he rather earned his place in it. But, the former United States Champion is definitely not happy about the fact that the leader of The Cenation is a part of the six-pack challenge at Fastlane because he clearly knows what Cena is capable of and knows that the 16-time WWE World Champion is totally capable enough of beating the best of the best.

What’s next?

This year’s Fastlane PPV takes place this Sunday at the Nationwide Arena, in Columbus, Ohio and, in the main event of the evening, current WWE Champion AJ Styles will defend his title against five other men, as Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, John Cena, and Baron Corbin look to step up to the plate and book their place at this year’s WrestleMania card.

Author’s Take

The six pack challenge WWE Title match is filled with Superstars who are all worthy enough of headlining the WrestleMania 34 card, however, I do hope that the WWE Universe still gets the opportunity to witness the dream match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura.
