What's the story?

In a backstage interview with Kayla Braxton, reigning WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley opened up on the reason behind her having attacked Ember Moon, moments after their match in which they'd worked as tag team partners.

Bayley asserted that she is a professional, owing to which she worked with Moon as a tag team partner -- however, she wasn't going to forget what the latter had done to her last week.

In case you didn't know...

"The Huggable One" Bayley recently accorded Ember Moon, the opportunity to challenge the former for her title at WWE's upcoming SummerSlam PPV event.

While the feud started off in a respectful manner, Moon blindsided Bayley last week; attacking the latter with an "Eclipse", and standing over the downed champion.

The heart of the matter

One ought to note that this week's episode of SmackDown Live, featured Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross facing Bayley & Ember Moon -- a matchup wherein Bliss pinned Moon, to pick up the victory for her team.

Following which, while Bliss & Cross left the ring, Bayley initially playacted as though she were helping Moon up to her feet; only to then deliver a "Bayley to Belly Suplex" on Moon.

Needless to say, certain sections of the pro wrestling community have been speculating whether the "heel-like" move from Bayley, could be a sign of a potential heel turn in the days to come.

Nevertheless, while neither the WWE nor Bayley have addressed a potential heel turn for the popular Superstar; Bayley spoke about her beat-down of Moon, in a backstage interview with Kayla Braxton.

Bayley explained that she first chose Moon as her SummerSlam opponent, since she reckoned that the latter would be a worthy adversary -- However, she eventually realized that Moon is the kind of opponent who'll attack the former when her back's turned.

Moreover, "The Huggable One" added that she has dealt with that sort of opponents her entire career, and is now quite experienced in that regard -- noting that "what goes around comes around"...Bayley stated --

"So Ember's going to find out who I've become after all these years, and that is a Grand Slam Champion -- And that didn't happen over night; or over falling for these things, over and over and over again." (*H/T Sportskeeda for the transcription)

What's next?

Bayley is set to defend her WWE SmackDown Women's Title against Ember Moon at WWE's SummerSlam event, this August 11th, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
