What's the story?

Braun Strowman might always be on the cusp of challenging for a title in WWE, but for some reason, winning one has eluded The Monster Among Men thus far.

While speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Strowman mentioned that since he's with the WWE for the foreseeable future, he does have aspirations of winning titles, but The Monster Among Men doesn't feel the necessity of having gold around his waist at the moment.

In case you didn't know . . .

Once he debuted with the Wyatt Family a few years ago, it was apparent that Strowman was unlike any other Superstar on the roster. He has challenged Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship on numerous occasions but was unsuccessful in each attempt. He also had some memorable feuds with the likes Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley and Kevin Owens.

The heart of the matter

While Superstars like Mark Henry and The Big Show were both larger than life wrestlers, they didn't possess the size/speed combo that Strowman has.

Since he has such a unique blend of size, speed and athleticism, it wasn't crazy to think that he'd be pushed to the moon and by extension, to world title reigns.

It hasn't happened for The Monster Among Men just yet although he has challenged for titles before. In addition to challenging Lesnar for the Universal Championship, he also battled Roman Reigns once The Big Dog won the title from Brock Lesnar.

In order to challenge Reigns, Strowman took advantage of his Money in the Bank contract. Unfortunately for him, he became the fourth man to unsuccessfully cash in his MITB contract.

Strowman has also won the Greatest Royal Rumble and the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, but neither netted him a title shot. Although those wins were nice, Strowman isn't moping around about not winning a title yet.

"It's not a necessity right now," he said. "I don't need something to boost my character. I get some of the biggest reactions out of anyone just walking out because of my sheer size and ability. It would be cool right now, but I'm here for the long haul and I have many, many more years of WWE in me. There's plenty of time."

What's next?

Strowman will continue to be featured on RAW going forward. He isn't currently embroiled in a feud with anyone at the moment, but that will change after SummerSlam.
