What’s the story?

Following this year’s WrestleMania 34 event in New Orleans, “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman appeared on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast to talk about a host of topics and also discuss his tag team match at ‘Mania 34.

In case you didn’t know…

After single-handedly becoming the new #1 contender for the Raw Tag Team Championships, Braun Strowman was seen teaming up with a 10-year-old boy named Nicholas at WrestleMania 34 and the two eventually defeated Cesaro and Sheamus—The Bar—to capture the Raw Tag Team Titles at ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’.

However, the following night on Raw, Strowman, and Nicholas would go on to relinquish the Raw Tag Titles due to a scheduling conflict for Nicholas.

The heart of the matter

During his recent conversation with Sam Roberts, Braun Strowman claimed that despite receiving a lot of negative attention regarding his WrestleMania 34 match, he still believes in the fact that this was just the beginning for him in the Pro Wrestling industry and “The Monster Among Men” will eventually reach his full potential and main event WrestleMania at some point down the line. "That's the thing, everyone is like, oh you should be main-eventing, but I'm like, I'm just getting started. I'm just wetting my beak right now. We have a lot more to do and why rush everything right now? The machine is behind me. The Universe is behind me. Let's enjoy this. Let's have fun, and let's go out there and do it together."

What’s next?

Braun Strowman will be a part of WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble event this Friday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and the former Raw Tag Team Champion will certainly be a huge favourite to walk out as the eventual winner of the first ever 50-man Royal Rumble match.

Author’s Take

In my opinion, WWE did drop the ball on Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 34 and instead decided to book him in a lacklustre match, which was basically pointless. However, I do hope that WWE soon realizes what “The Monster Among Men” is capable of and eventually push him to the top as a main event level player.
