Chris Jericho teased some
big time
WWE matches!

What's the story?

Chris Jericho and Tetsuya Naito are in the midst of a feud in NJPW at this point in time. However, he is optimistic about a return to WWE and named Braun Strowman, Daniel Bryan and others as opponents upon his return in an interview with mirror.co.uk.

According to Jericho, the primary motivator for him would be the storyline of the feud. I thank NoDQ for the heads up.

In case you didn't know...

Jericho has been one of the greatest wrestlers to ever put on a pair of boots and compete in WWE. His recent run with 'the list' has been dubbed as his best run ever, even though he's in his mid-40s at the moment.

Jericho made waves when he recently went to NJPW and put on a classic with Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom. He has also been part of milestone WWE events recently, such as RAW 25 and the Greatest Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

The heart of the matter

Jericho elaborated upon how the story remains the biggest motivation for him to perform at a high level:

It’s all about the story. If it’s a good story I will work with anybody. I enjoy wrestling still but I enjoy the storyline behind it. I liked the idea of a surprise attack on Naito, I like all these type of things that you don’t really expect to see. That’s why I still enjoy wrestling.

Additionally, he named the performers he'd like to share the ring with upon a WWE return:

Yeah sure, working with [Braun] Strowman would be great, working with Daniel Bryan would be great, working with any of those guys would be great, I love Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins and all of those dudes. But what’s the story behind it? If we can come up with a good story, then I’m all in.

What's next?

One assumes that Jericho has unfinished business in Japan. It would be fun to see him return for a WWE run. Jericho's programs are always absolutely amazing!

Author's take

I am enjoying what Jericho is doing right now. I'll also enjoy Jericho if he makes a WWE return.

He is simply the greatest and can do whatever he wants to!
