WWE News: Finn Balor reveals injury scare during NJPW run

Balor recalls injury scare at NJPW

According to Frank Palmer of screengeek.net, the former WWE Universal Champion, Finn Balor, during a panel at Wizard World, revealed one of the most brutal injuries that he sustained during his time at New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Balor revealed that he once got kicked really hard in the shin during a match. He went on to say that the shin looked worse than before the day after, so he consulted his doctor who diagnosed the injury as nothing but a "bad bang". After consulting the doctor, Balor went to his trainer, who taped up the shin before his next match.

After the match, when he got the taped removed, Balor told the masseuse treating him that his shin still felt sore and didn't feel normal. The masseuse insisted that it was nothing and that he'll be fine the next day.

The next day, Balor couldn't even put his feet on the floor. He went downstairs wondering about his shin when Bullet Club's Bad Luck Fale told him to go to the hospital immediately after seeing the extent of his injury, as he had a similar one when he was in Mexico.

After reaching the hospital and getting his shin checked, the one doctor who could speak English told Balor that his leg (with the sore shin) was infected, and the infection was eating into his bone. The doctor further added, that if Balor would've come to the hospital the day after he actually did, they would've had no choice, but to amputate the leg.

All this chaos occurred in Balor's life when there was no Skype or iPhones, and thus, he couldn't even contact his family. Fortunately, Balor's leg healed after ten days, and he was back wrestling soon.

Balor is currently out-of-action from the WWE, as he's recuperating from multiple shoulder injuries. He was rumoured to return at the RAW-exclusive Roadblock Pay-Per-View after the hosts for Roadblock, the PPG Paints Arena, advertised him on the match card.

However, he denied those rumours during the above-mentioned panel at Wizard World, saying that the advertisement is obsolete and just needs to get updated and that he'll be with his family and friends at home; not at Roadblock.
