Canada’s first NXT TakeOver just got announced

WWE just announced the next NXT pay-per-view for November which is going to take place in Air Canada Centre in Toronto as a part of SurvivorSeries weekend. This is the first time WWE is set to hold it’ s first NXT pay-per-view in Canada and the weekend comprises of NXT TakeOver on Saturday 19th November, WWE SurvivorSeries on Sunday, November 20th and RAW on Monday, 21st November.

The first pay-per-view on the list, NXT TakeOver: Toronto will see NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura defend his title for the first time. Shinsuke will probably face Samoa Joe with the latter Superstar getting a shot to win back the title after the crushing defeat he took at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II. We still haven’t seen too much of the ex-NJPW star in the ring and regardless of his opponent, if the past is any indication, this should prove to be a good match.

NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival will also be on the card defending the title they won for the second time from The American Alpha.

Also on the card will be Asuka’s NXT Women’s Title defense. Although her opponent for the card hasn’t been announced there are few in the NXT women’s roster who can match ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ in the ring. Asuka’s last title defense was an interesting one, to say the least, with Baily struggling to hold on by the end of. Both Superstars gave a good show that night but Asuka got the hard earned victory while Bailey got her chance in the ‘Big Leagues’ with her RAW debut.

SurvivorSeries will be held on Sunday, 20th November, the tickets for which have already sold out. This will be the second pay-per-view after the recent brand split, to include bot RAW and SmackDown Live rosters. SurvivorSeries is often regarded as one of the ‘Big Four’, i.e, the biggest WWE pay-per-views of the year along with SummerSlam, Royal Rumble and the biggest of them all, WrestleMania.

The final show for the weekend will be Monday’s RAW which will serve as a sort of conclusion to the previous night’s shenanigans.

You can catch both NXT TakeOver: Toronto and Survivor Series 2016 live on the WWE Network. Tickets for NXT TakeOver will go on sale Friday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. ET, and if history is anything to go buy, will sell out in a matter of hours.
