What's the story?
Paige was the on-screen Authority figure on SmackDown Live until December. On the night after TLC, the McMahons relieved all middlemen from their posts, and as a result, Paige had to relinquish her spot as GM.
Shane McMahon assured the WWE Universe that she would still, very much, be a part of the WWE family. Paige recently made her first public appearance since December for WWE at the Royal Rumble Axxess.
In case you didn't know...
Paige was one of the Superstars that paved the way for the women's division of today with her incredible in-ring prowess and promos. Unfortunately, she had to retire from the ring because of an unfortunate accident during a multi-woman match.
She transitioned seamlessly into a General Manager role until TLC. Unlike Baron Corbin, the WWE Universe was actually quite happy to see her on screen.
Right now, a movie about Paige's life is being made called 'Fighting With My Family'.
The heart of the matter
Paige was one of the surprise guests at the Royal Rumble Axxess event much to the delight of fans. She answered a few interviews and interacted with the WWE Universe at the event.
Paige seemed absolutely delighted to get a chance to interact with her fans. She also spoke about the movie based on her life and a WWE Chronicle episode that comes out immediately after NXT TakeOver: Phoenix. It does seem like she's still very much a part of the WWE Family.
What's next?
Paige could very well be a surprise guest on the Kickoff panel right before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view begins. One wonders if WWE will think of a different role for her in the future. Only time will tell what's in store for Paige.
