What’s the story?

Earlier today, WWE finally announced the massive signing of top Indy star, former Lucha Underground Champion Trevor “Ricochet” Mann, commonly known as Ricochet. Shortly after his signing with the WWE, Ricochet decided to take to social media as he decided to react to the monumental news.

In case you didn’t know…

One of the biggest sensations of the Independent Wrestling scene, Ricochet is a former New Japan Pro Wrestling star and one of the hardest working wrestlers to ever step foot into the Pro Wrestling business. In the past, The Future of Flight has performed for top promotions such as RevPro UK, House of Glory, Lucha Underground, DDT, Dragon Gate/Dragon Gate USA, and most notably Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

Ricochet is a former two-time IWGP Jr. Tag Team Champion and has won the Lucha Underground Championship on two different occasions in the past as well. The 29-year-old has also held various top championships in the wrestling business, including the PWG World Championship and Dragon Gate’s Open the Brave Gate Championship as well.

The heart of the matter

WWE has announced that Ricochet will now begin training under the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and will make his debut for the WWE under the NXT brand, in the near future.

WWE also released a statement on their official website, confirming the signing of the former NJPW star and upon the announcement of his signing, Ricochet himself has taken to his official Twitter handle in order to react to the news.

In a recent tweet, Ricochet stated that him signing with the top wrestling promotion on the planet is indeed happening for real, and furthermore, the formerly 'Prince Puma' indicated that 2018 is going to be one of the most significant years of his wrestling career.

What’s next?

Ricochet, who is also a very good friend of WWE superstar Apollo Crews, is now heading towards the WWE PC in order to start training under the likes of Matt Bloom and Steve Corino, who are the two head coaches in the Performance Center.

Ricochet is scheduled to appear for WWE NXT, but with the Royal Rumble coming up we might just get to see the stylish high-flyer make his WWE debut by entering the Royal Rumble match.
