WWE News: Roman Reigns responds to recent steroid allegations

Roman Reigns has finally responded
Roman Reigns has finally responded

What the story?

Roman Reigns has recently been dragged into accusations by jailed steroid user Richard Rodriguez, where he claims that the former World Champion was one of his clients. After months of speculation, Reigns has finally responded to the claims.

In case you didn't know...

Rodriguez was jailed after his company was accused of being involved in a distribution chain which imported goods from China before they then manufactured illegal steroids and were found to be distributing them in the Miami area.

Filmmaker Johnny Bravo has been interviewing Rodriguez for an upcoming documentary and has been releasing videos on his Youtube Channel over the past few weeks. Bravo has already claimed that Reigns was a client as well as Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel. Whilst the information has already been released regarding Duhamel's inclusion, it seems that Bravo has been teasing the release of video proof that Reigns was involved and that was dropped yesterday but there was nothing regarding Reigns on the video.

The heart of the matter

Roman Reigns hasn't addressed these allegations or even made any comment towards them since a statement was released back in January, but he recently appeared on The Jim & Sam Show where he was asked how he is able to ignore the accusations. (Transcript via WrestlingInc)

At one point it's like, who is this [Rodriguez]? Where is this coming from? What did I do? Like, what the heck is going on? I'm just sitting at home playing with kids. I'm feeding babies and changing diapers, and doing dad stuff and then all of a sudden this happens, I think it's just a good lesson of where we're at. If you have any kind of social media presence; essentially, my Twitter is a billboard, unfortunately some people want to use whether it's in a positive passion and a negative passion.

Reigns has stayed quiet over the past few months where many of the WWE Universe have speculated that his WrestleMania main event could be in jeopardy, but it seems that he has found a way to rise above the rumours.

"At the same time, it's one of those deals where, I know me, I know what I have done, and I know what the truth is. You have to have one of those bulletproof mentalities where it's like, these things are ricocheting off of me."

What's next?

Bravo recently released the video where he stated that he would provide proof of Reigns involvement, but there was no evidence on the video which he shared yesterday amongst all of the speculation he had created. It is unknown if he will continue to tease that he has this kind of information or not. Bravo stated that he was taking some time away from Youtube after the latest video.

Author's take

This is something that has dominated the wrestling news world for the past few months and it seems that yesterday's video was supposed to provide proof that Reigns was involved in some way, instead, it didn't. It is unknown if this is the end of it but it seems that Bravo's break from Youtube could be a good sign that things might be settling down.
