#5 Vince Russo's daring storyline for WWE Superstar Mandy Rose

Vince Russo revealed why an onscreen relationship between tag team partners Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke would be a good idea.

The former WWE head writer feels there isn't a solid reason why Rose and Brooke became a team in the first place. Hence, if WWE could book them as a serious romantic couple, it could add an interesting context to their onscreen pairing.

Here's what Vince Russo said on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing with Russo with Dr. Chris Featherstone:

"If they [Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke] were a couple [on screen], they would really care about each other," Vince Russo said, "And if one of them got hurt, if somebody got heat on one of them, that changes the stakes a little bit. 'It isn't just my tag team partner now, this is my soulmate,' so to speak."

In the Writing With Russo episode, he further pitched that antagonists like Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler could attack Mandy Rose or Dana Brooke to build emotional conflict in the team. Russo also brought up a few romantic storylines from the past to substantiate his opinion:

"What's the difference between this and DDP & Kimberly? Savage and Elizabeth? Kurt Angle and Karen Angle? We've gone through the relationship thing a million times," Russo said. "I am looking at this [Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke] the same exact way. You could do a breakup angle. You could do a 'what would a Page [DDP] do or a Savage do if their lady was really hurt and injured by somebody?' There really is a lot you could do."

In an era where same-sex relationships are the norm, Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke's romantic storyline should be executed tastefully, according to Russo.

Do you think WWE's higher-ups would be willing to do the same somewhere down the road?

#4 John Cena compares himself to WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns

As per recent reports, Roman Reigns vs John Cena could be the main event for this year's WWE SummerSlam. The two have faced each other in the past, but Cena has never crossed paths with the current version of Reigns, who is a top antagonist in the company.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet's, John Cena praised the current WWE Universal Champion. He admitted that unlike Reigns, he might not have fared well by performing in the absence of a live crowd.

By comparison, Reigns has taken advantage of the ThunderDome era to "mold his character" and receive critical acclaim as a result.

"I don't think I would have done very well in this atmosphere without an audience," said John Cena. "But I also think that this time without an audience has allowed performers like Roman Reigns for example, to unobstructively mold his character. If you send Roman Reigns from city to city with paying audience after paying audience, there may be some audiences that don't even care what he has to say. They just want to boo him or cheer him or whatever. Without that, especially developing your character and trying to get the message across, like trying to hand someone your business card...He's spent this 15-month block defining who he is and he's the one who can benefit from this."

The live audience will be a huge factor in their rumored SummerSlam encounter. Can The Tribal Chief prosper on the Cenation leader's turf?

There are still several weeks left on the road to SummerSlam which will be held in August. Meanwhile, Reigns' Hell in a Cell match against Rey Mysterio has been surprisingly rescheduled to this week's WWE SmackDown.

#3 Stephanie McMahon teases surprises for WWE SummerSlam 2021

WWE's Chief Brand Officer, Stephanie McMahon, last fought at WrestleMania 34 in 2018. At the event, she tagged alongside her husband Triple H to wrestle Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle.

During a recent interview with Yahoo Finance, McMahon was asked about possibly wrestling again. While she didn't confirm anything, she guaranteed this year's SummerSlam event would feature "a lot of surprises."

“Ever since Ronda Rousey broke my arm, I have a little PTSD," said Stephanie McMahon. "I’m not sure you’re going to see me in the ring anytime soon, but I guarantee for SummerSlam, there is going to be a lot of surprises."

One of those could be Cena's rumored return to face Roman Reigns. Additionally, Edge's WWE future may include a match at Summerslam as per recent reports. The legendary star last wrestled Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns in a triple threat main event at WrestleMania 37 Night Two.

#2 Why does WWE Champion Bobby Lashley look younger?

Bobby Lashley is set to fight Drew McIntyre at Sunday's WWE Hell in a Cell event. The current WWE Champion had a chat with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Rick Ucchino about his upcoming title defense and the secret to staying fit at the age of 44, among other topics.

Lashley revealed that he is dedicated to self-discipline, self-care, and frequent training. The All Mighty might be in the best shape of his life and has no plans to slow down anytime soon.

"I'm not really a drinker... I do things in very, very, very small moderations and for me it's just being on a routine," said Bobby Lashley. "I take care of myself. I do a lot of rehab... I eat good, and I take my time to do the massages, and try needling when you get the boo-boos. And other than that, I mean, if you don't damage yourself, you're not gonna break down."

According to stipulations, if Drew McIntyre fails to win at Hell in a Cell, he can no longer challenge for the WWE title as long as Bobby Lashley is champion. Who do you think will emerge victorious from this high-stakes encounter?
