Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns at The MSG is off!
Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns at The MSG is off!

What’s the story?

As per reported by Wrestling Inc, it looks like Smackdown Live’s superstar Samoa Joe has been removed from WWE’s forthcoming show at The Madison Square Garden, later in the month of July.

In case you didn’t know…

After missing out on in-ring action for a total of 3-4 months, Samoa Joe finally made his return on the Raw after WrestleMania 34 when the former NXT Champion challenged ‘The Big Dog’ Roman Reigns to an upcoming match at this year’s Backlash pay-per-view.

However, shortly after his return, Joe was traded to Smackdown Live as part of the Superstar Shake-up.

The heart of the matter

Despite being drafted to Smackdown Live, Samoa Joe is still currently slated to face-off against Roman Reigns in WWE’s upcoming tour of the United Kingdom later this month, however, as per a recent report from Wrestling Inc, Joe has been seemingly removed from WWE’s upcoming MSG show in the month of July and is currently no longer being listed for the event in New York City.

Joe was originally scheduled to compete in a one-on-one match against Roman Reigns at The Garden, but as of right now, that contest has certainly been called-off and WWE are also yet to announce a new main event for the MSG show in July.

What’s next?

WWE’s upcoming Madison Square Garden show will take place on the 7th of July, 2018 and despite Samoa Joe being removed from the event, the WWE Universe will have the chance to witness Ronda Rousey in action for the first time since WrestleMania 34.

Author’s take

Despite Samoa Joe being removed from the MSG show, I believe fans could still tune in to get a closer look at the likes of Finn Balor, Ronda Rousey, and Seth Rollins, who all are still expected to make it to the MSG show.
