What’s the story?

The WWE Network’s top programs for the week are in and showed that Survivor Series was the most watched show, according to a report published in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

In case you didn’t know...

The WWE Network was launched in 2014 prior to WrestleMania XXX and contains content from multiple wrestling organizations including ECW, Smokey Mountain Wrestling, World Championship Class Wrestling, WCW and more.

The network reached the 1 million subscriber threshold in 2015 and has reached its highest viewership during WrestleMania season, though some of the numbers are due to the free month offer WWE still maintains for new subscribers.

The heart of the matter

The following are the ten most watched programs on the WWE Network, per the Wrestling Observer:

1. Survivor Series
2. NXT (11/22/17)
3. NXT Takeover: War Games
4. Table for 3 (Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat & Sting)
5. WWE 365: Kevin Owens
6. WWE 24: Goldberg
7. Table for 3 (The Shield)
8. 205 Live (11/21/17)
9. WrestleMania
10. Table for 3 (X-Pac, Scott Hall & DDP)

Survivor Series was at the top of the shows for this week, but NXT Takeover: War Games fell to number three behind the Nov. 22 episode of NXT.

The only new content that made its way into the top ten was the Table for 3 featuring Flair, Steamboat, and Sting which aired immediately following this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

What’s next?

The Clash of Champions pay-per-view is scheduled for December 17 and is currently the only known new program coming to the network.

The network subscribers were last reported at 1.63 million paid, but that number is expected to increase heading into 2018 as the road to WrestleMania begins.

Author’s take

Despite many fans being disappointed by the main event of Survivor Series, others considered it the best show of the year and the list of most watched programs proves that.
