WWE News: Translating what Jinder Mahal said in Punjabi on SmackDown Live

Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers ambush Randy Orton, steal his WWE Championship.

What’s the story?

On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown Live, new No. 1-contender Jinder Mahal confronted Randy Orton ahead of their scheduled title clash at WWE Backlash. Mahal had an interesting spot where he took the time to speak to ‘his people’ in the middle of the ring in Punjabi, but the bulk of viewers didn’t know what he said – until now.

In case you didn’t know...

Mahal won a Six Pack Challenge to become the number one contender for the WWE Championship. Armed with a ridiculous physique and an alliance with The Singh Brothers, Mahal has become quite the thorn in Orton’s side.

The heart of the matter

After addressing his people on the mic, Mahal left a lot of WWE fans scratching their heads and wondering what he had said. Thanks to Twitter user @imaanhendrix, we now have a translation:

“At Backlash, Jinder Mahal will rise & defeat Randy Orton. All the American people will bow at my feet. All the American people, all of them will bow down to the kings feet. And one more thing…”

Mahal then proceeded to attack Orton and steal his WWE Title. You can check out the video of the whole ordeal here:

What’s next?

Dave Meltzer reported that Mahal is receiving his big push in an attempt to capitalise on the huge Indian market. It is not yet known if Mahal will win the title, but it should be noted that the WWE plans on pushing Baron Corbin into the title picture soon.

Author’s take

Mahal is a fresh heel on the SmackDown roster, and it’s quite refreshing to see some new blood in the mix. With his alignment with the Singh Brothers, he has the potential to be a great heel moving forward.
