What's the story?
NXT UK took over Blackpool, England tonight for the first time since the inaugural United Kingdom Tournament back in 2017 and it appears that WWE brought along a number of new recruits.
In case you didn't know...
WWE has a plethora of talent in NXT UK at present, but the issue that the company is now facing is that the Women's Division doesn't contain any United Kingdom-based women. It was reported a few days ago that Viper was heading to WWE which would give WWE options, but for right now the company was forced to have their first Takeover; Women's Championship match between two female wrestlers who aren't even British.
The heart of the matter
Toni Storm is the new UK Champion, but even though Storm has found a home in the United Kingdom over the past few years, the likes of Tegan Nox and Kay Lee Ray have become the two women at the height of Women's wrestling on British shores and finally Kay Lee Ray could be heading to WWE.
Kay Lee Ray was spotted at ringside alongside fellow Mae Young Classic star Jazzy Gabert whilst the Women's Championship match was on-going in Blackpool, as a hint that the two women could be close to signing a contract with WWE in the near future.
What's next?
There is a lot of speculation surrounding NXT UK at present and it appears that this could continue after the success of tonight's show. There could be a number of new women heading to the UK division in the future which would definitely give Toni Storm a worthy challenger ahead of the next Takeover event.
