WWE News: Update on why Charlotte Flair beat Sasha Banks for the RAW Women's Title at WWE Hell In A Cell

Sasha and Charlotte put each other through a war at Hell In A Cell

This past Sunday, the WWE Universe watched in awe as two women stepped into Hell In A Cell and tore the house down. Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks headlined the pay per view and contested for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.

Finally, when the dust cleared, Charlotte was standing tall as the new Women’s Champion.

The reason for her victory apparently is that WWE is facing an issue with the depth of their female roster. WWE creative wants to continue with the Charlotte-Sasha feud for a while longer and the only way to further prolong this feud was to have Charlotte Flair win the title at Hell In A Cell.

This will lead to another title match when Sasha returns. That matchup is expected to be scheduled sometime in December. Sasha is expected to win that clash thus planting the seeds for a Sasha vs. Bayley at WrestleMania 33 for the women’s title.

The Boston crowd were shocked to see their home girl Sasha lose the title in the historic matchup. Many fans speculated the reason for the title change and reasoned that it might have been an injury. Sasha has been harbouring a nagging back injury that Charlotte focused on during their clash at SummerSlam.

In fact, Sasha’s bad back was the focus of the match at Hell In A Cell as she was taken away from ringside on a stretcher after a spot on the Spanish announcer’s table, even before the match began.

The interesting point to note here is how WWE plans on proceeding with the Women’s Championship from now onwards. The women’s roster on RAW will collide with their counterparts on SmackDown Live at Survivor Series.

This time can be used by Sasha to recuperate from the injuries that she might have sustained at Hell In A Cell and be back in contention for the women’s title in December.
