WWE/NXT news: Shinsuke Nakamura vs Samoa Joe set to headline NXT TakeOver: Toronto

NXT will Takeover Canada for the very first time!

After the action of this week’s edition of NXT, with Shinsuke Nakamura making his comeback against Samoa Joe after weeks of speculation, William Regal announced on Twitter that the main event of NXT TakeOver: Toronto will see Samoa Joe facing Shinsuke Nakamura for the NXT Championship on November 19th.

Watch the announcement here:

Samoa Joe finally gets his championship rematch after losing it to Nakamura at NXT TakeOver: Back to Brooklyn. Frustrated after losing the title, Joe went on a wild spree assaulting Nakamura and asking Regal to hand over the title to him or face the consequences.

When Regal refused to comment, Joe made his presence felt each week as he continued the assault on NXT Superstars Ealy twins and ruined the debut of Dan Matha.

This was until the October 12th edition of NXT where Shinsuke Nakamura returned, sporting a neck brace and an intent to fight. The brawl ultimately ended in favour of the “King Of Strong Style” as he floored Samoa Joe with a devastating Kinshasa making his final statement.

With rumours suggesting that Samoa Joe may debut in the main roster after this event as he has been on NXT since May 2015. Many critics have been stating that a man of calibre such as Samoa Joe shouldn’t be wasting his time on NXT as he can provide much more in the main roster.

Even “Stone Cold” Steve Austin has been vocal about his opinion on this matter by stating “Samoa Joe Should Have Been On the Main Roster A Year Ago” .

Shinsuke Nakamura was one of the four stars that the WWE snapped up earlier this year from NJPW, Since his debut he has been one of the most consistent performers in the business by having excellent matches against Sami Zayn, Austin Aries, Finn Balor and Samoa Joe as well.

He has won over the fans with his charisma as well as his in-ring performance.

After having a quality bout at NXT TakeOver: Back to Brooklyn, the expectation for this bout will be no less as it will face competition from the finals of the “Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic” finals which will be held on the same show.
