WWE News: NXT star debuts controversial gimmick

Patrick Clark paved his way into WWE through Tough Enough

It’s seems that WWE NXT star Patrick Clark, who is a former participant of Tough Enough, has chosen to shock his way to the top by debuting in a controversial gimmick at live events, this week – reports wrestlinginc.com.

The up and coming wrestler has seemingly pledged his allegiance to United States Presidential candidate Donald Trump, who’s become more popular for his controversial comments than charisma, and recently wore a t-shirt of The Donald, with the candidate’s ‘Make America Great Again’ slogan stenciled across at an event in Jacksonville, Florida.

Clark previously created an even bigger shockwave after he cut a promo at Bartow, Florida, where he said that women belong in the kitchen. These comments are likely a nod to Trump’s less than respectful comments towards women during his campaign, which have been used as fodder by his rival Hilary Clinton.

The gimmick, although shocking, went down well with the crowd at Florida, which is Donald’s hometown. Although Clark’s gimmick is grabbing the necessary eyeballs, it remains to be seen how far it will take him.

On the other hand, Donald Trump is a close friend of WWE CEO Vince McMahon and even has his name inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
