NXT Takeover: New York kicked off WrestleMania weekend officially for WWE. After months of waiting, and the long hard road to the Grandest Stage of them all, the WWE Universe has finally arrived.

NXT Takeover: New York saw a stacked card, as the NXT Championship, the NXT Women's Championship, NXT Tag Team Championship, the NXT North American Championship, and the WWE United Kingdom Championship were all on the line.

Without any more ado, let's take a look at all the action from NXT Takeover: New York.


NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The War Raiders (c) vs Aleister Black vs Ricochet

Rowe and Aleister Black started it off in the ring. Rowe seemed to get the best of Black and had him down, but in a show of respect did not punch him and let him up.

Black returned the favour moments later, where he could have taken Rowe's head off with a kick, but stopped.

Ricochet and Hanson entered next, and Ricochet sent Hanson out with Headscissors and a Dropkick. Black sent Rowe out as well and then did a fake dive, mocking Rowe and Hanson.

Rowe and Hanson gained back control of the match, only for them to lose it once again as Ricochet used his fast-paced offence to disconcert them. Black came in they gained a measure of control in the match.

Black kept Rowe immobilized, working his arm. However, Rowe came back, hitting Aleister Black with a Judo Throw followed by the knee to his face.

Hanson came in and destroyed Ricochet and Black in their corners with Avalanche after Avalanche. Ricochet shocked the audience as he caught Hanson mid-air and then hit a huge slam on Hanson.

Black and Rowe mixed it up as they exchanged vicious kicks, with Black finally hitting the German Suplex for a two count.

Ricochet and Hanson came in, with the big man displaying his ability, with two cartwheels to avoid Ricochet. Ricochet's handspring missed, but Hanson connected with a Handspring Elbow.

Hanson went to the top rope but was brought down. Hanson caught Ricochet and Rowe hit him with a knee. It looked like things were over for Ricochet with the War Raiders hitting a Springboard into a German Suplex, but Black stopped it with a Flying Double Stomp.

Black took out Hanson on the outside, but Rowe followed with a Tope Suicida. He was followed by Ricochet who hit a double corkscrew handspring dive over the top rope. Hanson flattened everyone outside with a Swanton off the top rope.

Inside the ring, Ricochet hit a Superkick, and then Aleister Black hit a knee on Hanson. He hit the Black Mass on Rowe, and Ricochet followed it with a Shooting Star. Hanson managed to break the pin, and Ricochet went for and missed a 630.

Ricochet took out Rowe, but Hanson hit Ricochet with a Thor's Hammer. Hanson hit Black with a Suicide Dive, and then a Fallout ended the match, as the War Raiders retained their title.

Results:The War Raiders defeated Aleister Black and Ricochet to retain their NXT Tag Team Championships.

The match was the last of Ricochet and Aleister Black on NXT, as they will be heading to the main roster on a more permanent basis.

NXT North American Championship: Velveteen Dream (c) vs Matt Riddle

Velveteen Dream made an impact even before the match starts, as he had an amazing entrance dressed up as the Statue of Liberty.

The two mocked each other in the ring as they began, and then Riddle went straight for the wrist of Dream. He focused on trying to get him to submit, using him like a rag doll.

Dream got back in control and sent Riddle out. He tried to follow him out but missed and Riddle hit him with a German Suplex.

Inside, Riddle continued to dominate and hit Dream with an Exploder Suplex, followed by a kick to the face. Riddle went for the Bro Mission, but Dream blocked. Riddle then went for an Armbar, but Dream reached the rope.

Riddle hit Dream with a Knee strike and then almost took him out. Riddle continued to utilise the full 5-count assaulting Dream when he reached the rope.

Dream went for the Sleeper Hold, but it was not to be, as Riddle locked in the Triangle instead.

Riddle was picked up by Dream, but he reversed and hit Dream with a German Suplex for another nearfall.

Riddle was getting frustrated, but Dream summoned the spirit of Hulk Hogan and took Riddle down after Hulking out with a Big Boot. Dream hit Riddle with an Axe Handle to the outside and then hit a Famouser inside the ring.

Dream then hit a Codebreaker on Riddle for another nearfall.

Dream dove off the top rope, but Riddle locked in the Ankle Lock.Riddle then tried a Powerbomb, but Dream reversed and hit a Superkick. Dream hit the Dream Belly Driver but it was not to be.

Riddle caught Dream and hit him with a German Suplex. A dive off the top rope and it was supposed to be over, but Dream somehow survived.

Riddle had Dream dead to rights, with Riddle putting the Submission hold on Dream. However, Dream rolled over, and that was it. He got the pinfall on Riddle.

WWE United Kingdom Championship: Pete Dunne (c) vs WALTER

The match started with an apparent test of strength which Dunne tried to avoid, but WALTER grounded him.

WALTER continued to assault Dunne, knocking him down with the devastating chops. Dunne's offence was not doing much to WALTER but was able to lower him to his knees. It was only for a moment, as WALTER used a Boston Crab to slow him down.

He knocked Dunne out off the ring.

Dunne attacked WALTER with quick punches, and then dodged his charge in the corner, hitting him across the back. He then dropped WALTER with another kick to the back of the head. He took WALTER out on the outside with a dive.

Dunne went to the top rope, and WALTER caught him. He went for a Superplex but Dunne blocked, bending his fingers. He then dove over WALTER with a Powerbomb, but WALTER kicked out.

The two men were tired by this point, and they went at in the middle of the ring, chopping each other. Dunne fell, and WALTER stomped in him. Dunne came with a flurry of chops, but WALTER's chop dropped him again.

WALTER dropped Dunne and stomped him again. Dunne came back with a Step-Up Enzuigiri.

Dunne went to the top rope, but WALTER followed and went for and hit the Avalanche Super Suplex after a struggle. However, Dunne was able to kick out yet again.

Dunne focused on and snapped WALTER's fingers, and almost put him away with a Crucifix pin.

Dunne stomped on WALTER, but WALTER kicked back. WALTER caught Dunne with a Sleeper Hold, but Dunne rolled out. Dunne bent WALTER's arm and fingers all the way back, but WALTER was able to get out this time.

WALTER went to the top rope for a dive, but Dunne caught him with a triangle. He then snapped WALTER's fingers, but he got up and stomped on Dunne viciously.

Dunne went for the Pumphandle Suplex, but WALTER took him down with the lariat. Dunne hit the Bitter End after a reversal, but WALTER somehow kicked out.

WALTER and Dunne exchanged hard blows in the middle of the ring, but WALTER hit a huge Big Boot, knocking Dunne out. He went to the top rope, but Dunne snapped WALTER's fingers. Dunne went to the top with WALTER and had a Triangle on the top. WALTER used it to hit a huge AVALANCHE POWERBOMB from the top.

He went to the top again and hit a GIGANTIC SPLASH to end Dunne's 685 day reign as United Kingdom Champion with a three-count.

NXT Women's Championship: Shayna Baszler vs Bianca BelAir vs Kairi Sane vs Io Shirai

The match immediately started to break down, and Sane and Shirai were thrown out of the ring.

BelAir battled Shayna Baszler. in the ring, but Sane and Shirai got back in and interrupted them. Sane and Shirai hit a double dropkick on BelAir. Then focused on Baszler, dropping her.

Shirai and Sane faced each other down next, but Baszler came back in and took out Shirai. BelAir's hair was her next target, but she was taken out.

Shirai was caught by BelAir mid-air, who hit her with a Fallaway Slam for a near fall.

Baszler got back in control, with her choking out BelAir on the top rope. Sane and Shirai took advantage and hit the Double Powerbomb Superplex from the top rope. Sane was launched by Shirai onto BelAir and Baszler with the InSane elbow.

Shirai hit the lightning Moonsault. BelAir hit Shirai in the middle of the ring, but Sane took her out. Shirai took Baszler out with a German Suplex.

BelAir powered Shirai up with a Military Press and slammed her down onto Baszler and Sane.

Baszler caught BelAiir with the Kirfuda Clutch, but BelAir got up and hit a KOD for a near fall broken by Io Shirai. Shirai hit the X Factor on BelAir and hit the moonsault on Baszler, followed by another one with a near fall. Sane broke the pin and then hit the Alabama slam on Baszler with Shirai.

She hit the InSane Elbow on Baszler but Shirai broke up the pin.

Sane and Shirai faced down each other and Sane slammed Shirai down. BelAir came back in the match and incapacitated Sane. She picked up hit the Double KOD on Sane and Shirai. Baszler came back and immediately locked in the Kirifuda Clutch.

BelAir, after struggling for a long while, had no option but to tap.

Shayna Baszler won the match.

Results: Shayna Baszler defeated Io Shirai, Kairi Sane, and Bianca BelAir to retain the NXT Women's Championship.

NXT Championship Match: Adam Cole vs Johnny Gargano - 2 out of 3 falls match

Gargano and Cole locked up in the middle of the ring. The two of them exchanged holds as they both looked to wear the other down.

Gargano sent Cole to the outside and then hit a Flying Dropkick through the ropes. He went for another dive but was ambushed by Cole. Cole tried to wear down Gargano in the ring.

Gargano and Cole exchanged counters, with the two colliding with Crossbodies. Gargano hit a Tornado DDT on Cole for a near-fall.

Cole came back with a Backstabber for another near-fall. The two go Small Package Counter to Small Package counter for near falls. The two continue to roll each other out.

Gargano hit Cole's knee with a kick, and Cole did the same. Adam Cole hit the Last Shot out of nowhere, and then pinned Gargano for the 1st fall.

Cole went straight after Gargano. Cole avoided Gargano's punches and hit a German Suplex. Cole then hit the Last Shot again, but Gargano kicked out.

Gargano hit Cole with a Spear on the Apron and then dove off it, to hit a Senton on Cole.

Cole caught Gargano on the way back in and hit him with a Ushi Garoshi.

Gargano was almost hit with a Powerbomb from the top rope, but then Gargano reversed with an Avalanche Air-Raid Crash. Gargano followed it up with a Slingshot DDT on the apron.

Gargano could have taken the countout victory, but not wanting to win like that, broke the count and got back out. Cole slammed him against the ring post.

Once back in his ring, the two of them were exchanging locks, but Gargano locked in the Gargano Escape hold, and Cole tapped quickly.

Johnny Gargano won the second fall

The two Superstars faced up again, as Gargano hit Cole with a Superkick. Cole slammed him for a near fall, but Gargano came back with a Step Up Enzuigiri and Lawn Darted him into the corner, before a Full Nelson Slam for a near fall.

The two exchanged blows in the middle of the ring. They both fell together in the middle of the ring. Cole hit a Superkick to the back of the head and hit a Strait Jacket German Suplex for another near fall.

Cole and Gargano both reversed the other's move, with Cole hitting a Backdrop. Gargano hit Cole with a Spike Frankensteiner in the ring, and then hit a Superkick, but Cole rolled out of the ring.

Cole hit Gargano with a Suplex to the edge of the apron. They managed to get in the ring and Gargano hit a second rope DDT followed by a Slingshot DDT. He hit him with a Suicide Dive, but Cole reversed once back in the ring, and hit Gargano with the Canadian Destroyer.

It looked over, but Gargano kicked out.

The fight spilled to the outside again, and Gargano looked to put Cole through the table, but instead Cole hit the Fairytale Ending on the unforgiving table.

Gargano somehow made it back to the ring, but Cole hit him with a Superkick. Gargano kicked out yet again.

Gargani hit a sudden Superkick and was going for the Gargano Escape. Cole tapped, but the Undisputed Era distracted the referee. Kyle O'Reilly clawed his face, and Gargano without being able to see knocked the referee out.

Reilly took advantage and took him out. They put the referee in, but GARGANO KICKED OUT AGAIN.

Gargano launched Cole into the Undisputed Era. He then cleaned house and destroyed the Unidsputed Era. Cole hit him with a Superkick and the Last Shot, but it proved to not be the last shot. Gargano kicked out.

Gargano avoided the Last Shot and locked in the Gargano Escape. Cole almost got to the rope, but Gargano rolled him back. That was all he needed, as Cole tapped.

JOHNNY GARGANO IS THE NEW NXT CHAMPION.
