The WWE title scene gets more interesting every week

From RETRIBUTION's new targets to Drew McIntyre's Handicap Match against The Miz and John Morrison, this week's edition of WWE RAW featured many contrasting moments.

The Red brand put on an entertaining show this week, where both the matches and promos felt engaging, for the most part. Apart from the few usual grievances that fans hold against RAW quite frequently, the road to Survivor Series keeps getting more interesting as each week passes by.

Let us know what you thought about this particular episode in the comments section below.

Here are the five biggest news stories from this week's episode of WWE RAW (November 2, 2020).

#5: RETRIBUTION attacked Ricochet and Tucker after their one-on-one match on WWE RAW

When a tag team is broken apart on WWE TV, the usual expectation is that the company has better plans for either Superstar of the same tag team.

While it's too early to say what WWE's endgame with Heavy Machinery's breakup is supposed to be, Tucker's solo career on the Red brand kicked-off in an underwhelming manner.

Although Tucker debuted some new gear, he was quickly defeated by Ricochet in an exhibition match. Ricochet may have freed himself from the grasp of The Hurt Business, but RETRIBUTION began their own separate "business" with the high-flying star on WWE RAW.

Mustafa Ali had come to ringside for Tucker and Ricochet's match. After Ricochet's victory, all members of RETRIBUTION came out and ambushed both Tucker and Ricochet separately.

The numbers game caught up to Ricochet, and it looks like RETRIBUTION has changed their approach to conquering RAW by taking a route that preferably keeps The Hurt Business out of the equation this time around.

It's about time that Reckoning (Mia Yim) of RETRIBUTION also gets her own separate angle in the women's division. She may get involved with Asuka, judging by the shots she fired against The Empress of Tomorrow on RAW Talk.

#4: Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler successfully defended their WWE Women's tag team titles; Lana's future with the RAW Women's Survivor Series team in jeopardy?

The battle for securing co-leadership rights for the RAW Women's Survivor Series team between Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke and the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, continued this week.

As both teams fought each other in a tag team match for the aforementioned titles, Lana arrived at the scene and tried to distract the champions. Lana only wanted to compromise Jax and Baszler's bullish mentality on WWE RAW, but it turned out to be a failed effort on her part as the champions retained their titles successfully.

Later, Nia Jax decided to teach Lana another lesson in a one-on-one match. To the company's credit, WWE did a good job of building up Lana as a sympathetic figure. She stood no chance at winning against Nia Jax, and the latter's insults towards Lana added more steam behind her babyface run.

Lana went through the announcer's table at the hands of Nia Jax once again, and her future as a member of Team RAW could be in serious jeopardy after losing to Jax in a one-sided match during this week's WWE RAW.

#3: Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander of The Hurt Business kickstarted a WWE RAW Tag Team Championship feud against New Day

The Hurt Business accomplished a lot on WWE RAW this week. Bobby Lashley continued his dominant spree by defeating R-Truth inside the ring. Later, MVP stated that as a reward for standing tall against RETRIBUTION in recent times, The Hurt Business wanted to go after the RAW Tag Team Champions, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day.

Kingston and Woods ridiculed The Hurt Business and even made a joke about Lashley and Lana's failed marriage in reel life.

But in the ring, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander proved to be one step ahead as they secured a non-titles victory over The New Day on WWE RAW.

It's good that The Hurt Business can finally focus on matters other than RETRIBUTION on WWE RAW. Benjamin and Alexander's important victory over The New Day will certainly earn them a shot at the RAW Tag Team Championships before Survivor Series.

If The Hurt Business representatives win, Street Profits will receive a new brand vs. brand challenge at Survivor Series, one where they get to face heel champions instead of The New Day.

#2: Braun Strowman earned a spot in the men's RAW Survivor Team after fighting Keith Lee and Sheamus in an excellent Triple Threat Match on WWE RAW

AJ Styles has dubbed himself as the unofficial leader of Team RAW for WWE Survivor Series, even if others may not be on the same page about it. Keith Lee's explosive feud with Braun Strowman factored into the men's RAW team scenario last night.

The Phenomenal One wanted Strowman in his team, but The Monster had to earn his spot through a qualifying match just like Keith Lee, Sheamus, and AJ Styles.

A Triple Threat Match between Strowman, Lee, and Sheamus was booked to determine The Monster's status for WWE Survivor Series, and this clash was arguably the most engaging bout of the night.

The hard-hitting sequences between Lee and Strowman were terrific, and Sheamus is slowly but surely earning back his spot as one of the top stars on WWE RAW.

After Strowman's victory, AJ Styles - who was on commentary during this match - wanted everyone to shake hands as teammates. Unfortunately for The Phenomenal One, the whole debacle turned into a physical confrontation.

Later in the night, Sheamus approached Drew McIntyre as an old friend and encouraged him to join Team RAW.

The men's RAW team features some strong heavyweights, and it could become even stronger under Drew McIntyre's potential leadership, but everything is going to fall apart unless all members fail to be on the same page when it matters the most.

#1: Alexa Bliss spooked Nikki Cross and the WWE Universe while Randy Orton got some revenge against Drew McIntyre

Multiple storylines have been intertwined to serve the overarching plot of the WWE Championship, which feels fresh and exciting because fans have mostly been subjected to one-on-one feuds for the top titles in recent memory.

Randy Orton's opening promo at the beginning of this week's WWE RAW was interrupted by Alexa Bliss, who reminded Orton that The Fiend hasn't forgotten about him yet. The Fiend's screeching music misdirected Orton, as the WWE Champion was attacked by Drew McIntyre instead.

This week's edition of the Firefly Fun House was an excellent one, as Bray Wyatt relived the horrors of his Randy Orton feud and Alexa Bliss spooked audiences at home by performing a "magic trick", where her tongue rolled out in a gruesome manner.

Later, Nikki Cross hoped to rekindle her friendship with Alexa Bliss backstage, but Bliss scared Cross with a demonic set of eyes in their segment.

Drew McIntyre defeated The Miz and John Morrison in an entertaining main event, even though some fans didn't like that The Miz hasn't been able to overcome McIntyre's threat in any way. After the match, Randy Orton struck McIntyre with an RKO out of nowhere. The Fiend's laughs echoed throughout the ThunderDome to remind Orton that Bray Wyatt's alter-ego is coming for him soon.

Although fans have accepted Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt's segments in a positive light, a certain section of the WWE Universe is apprehensive of another feud between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt. It's important to note that things have considerably changed for both characters since their previous encounter, and it's unfair to judge their latest program even though nothing wrong has been done in its early stages.
