Seth Rollins bullied Murphy to apologize to him this week

From Bray Wyatt's "appearance" on The KO Show to RETRIBUTION's leader being revealed, this week's edition of WWE RAW featured many contrasting moments.

The Red brand featured some important plot developments on the road to Hell in a Cell. Although RAW is far from perfect in 2020, last night's episode was engaging enough throughout its three-hour duration, which is a notable accomplishment for the showrunners right now.

Let us know what you thought about this particular episode in the comments section below.

Here are the five biggest news stories from this week's episode of WWE RAW (October 5, 2020).

#5: Randy Orton successfully pinned Drew McIntyre before their clash at WWE Hell in a Cell

This week's edition of WWE RAW opened with Randy Orton cutting a promo from the legends lounge, where he described his stealthy attack from the previous episode on Ric Flair, The Big Show, Christian, and Shawn Michaels.

Interestingly, Orton revealed that he whispered Edge's name to Christian after attacking him last week, which only rubbed salt into the latter's wounds. Randy Orton and Edge are far from done with each other, and the latter will most probably return and face The Legend Killer to settle their feud through a rubber match.

Orton challenged Drew McIntyre to a WWE title rematch inside Hell in a Cell, and the latter would accept it later during an interview with Charly Caruso.

In the main event, Drew teamed up with The Street Profits to face Orton, Dolph Ziggler, and Robert Roode. The Viper has been one step ahead of the WWE Champion since Clash of Champions ended. This was also established when Orton successfully pinned McIntyre after delivering an RKO to the WWE Champion last night.

It's not often that Drew McIntyre gets pinned to take the loss for his team nowadays, and Orton accomplished the same to solidify his chances for winning the WWE title at Hell in a Cell.

#4: Braun Strowman and Keith Lee's exhibition match ended in a destructive brawl on WWE RAW

There was no RAW Underground on this week's edition of WWE RAW, which is why Braun Strowman demanded a match while confronting Adam Pearce backstage.

Although Strowman doesn't officially belong on the Red brand's roster, Pearce explained that he can technically wrestle a RAW Superstar in an Exhibition Match before the Draft. Keith Lee entered the frame and took up the challenge right when The Monster Among Men walked away.

Keith Lee and Braun Strowman's monstrous clash might occur properly at a later date since both men got counted out by the referee this week. Out of sheer frustration, Strowman tackled Lee through the barricade.

Both men brawled for a while until The Limitless One propelled himself and Strowman from the stage onto a table.

Lee and Strowman's brawl felt like a monster movie, and WWE has teased a future clash between the two. Fans also want to see The Monster Among Men and The Limitless One beating the life out of each other, which is why it is quite likely that Braun Strowman will officially end up on RAW during this year's WWE Draft.

#3: The KO Show was interrupted by an impromptu edition of Bray Wyatt's Firefly Fun House on WWE RAW

The Fiend attacked Kevin Owens during last week's SmackDown, so another edition of The KO Show was booked on WWE RAW with "Fun House" Bray Wyatt as the special guest.

Bray Wyatt hosted an impromptu Firefly Fun House segment and extended a friendly gesture through a song to Kevin Owens, unlike The Fiend. Kevin Owens didn't play along because he wasn't in the right frame of mind after what The Fiend did to him on WWE SmackDown.

Wyatt said Owens would truly find out what he'd gotten into with The Fiend on the upcoming edition of WWE SmackDown, but The Prizefighter didn't have the patience to wait till this Friday.

As Owens was on his way to find Bray Wyatt, he was ambushed by Aleister Black on the ramp. Kevin Owens is currently involved in a heated feud with two WWE Superstars from different brands, so this situation could very well evolve into a triple threat feud sooner rather than later.

By the way, did anyone notice R-Truth's mock draft board before The KO Show segment took place on last night's WWE RAW? The board featured Firefly Fun House easter eggs where Sister Abigail and Mercy the Buzzard remained on SmackDown, while Huskus The Pig Boy was drafted to RAW.

Either this was just presented as a joke, or it could foreshadow the events of the Draft for Alexa Bliss and The Fiend. Both of them may or may not stay on SmackDown, but even someone like Kevin Owens or Aleister Black could be drafted to the Blue brand.

#2: Murphy finally turned on Seth Rollins during WWE RAW

WWE fans had been waiting for Murphy's babyface turn to happen ever since he got involved in a storyline with Rey Mysterio's daughter, Aalyah.

Murphy had enough when Seth Rollins bullied him to a breaking point on this week's WWE RAW. Rollins frequently manipulated Murphy by reminding him of their Messiah/Disciple relationship.

Murphy broke out of that equation and attacked The Monday Night Messiah instead of apologizing to him. Seth Rollins' former disciple even grabbed a kendo stick to gain an advantage during their brawl, but Rollins managed to manipulate Murphy by earning some sympathy.

The way Rollins successfully manipulated Murphy even after their breakup was a great example of storytelling. It gave Rollins an opening to attack his disciple again, and this segment as a whole encapsulated how The Monday Night Messiah had developed a mental hold over his disciple in the last few months.

Aalyah came out to beg Rollins to stop attacking Murphy. Rollins stepped away, but he was successful in widening the chasm of conflict within the members of The Mysterio Family.

Dominik came out to pull Aalyah away from Murphy. It became clear that the Mysterio family still didn't want Aalyah to get involved with Murphy, even though the latter turned babyface during this week's WWE RAW.

#1: Mustafa Ali was revealed as the leader of RETRIBUTION on WWE RAW (and the SmackDown hacker, possibly)

Mustafa Ali was involved in the biggest plot development of his WWE career on last night's RAW.

Ali was booked as an ally to Apollo Crews and Ricochet throughout the night until a singles match between Ali and MVP occurred later in the episode.

RETRIBUTION interrupted this match, and Ali initially accepted MVP's offer to join The Hurt Business, only to stand by Mace and T-Bar's side to reveal his true colours.

Nobody saw this plot twist coming. Thankfully, most fans remained positive on social media when Ali's heel turn took place. This is a complete gamechanger for the RETRIBUTION angle, which was unanimously viewed as a failure until last night's WWE RAW.

Mustafa Ali could be a great mouthpiece for this faction. Interestingly, WWE alluded to Mustafa Ali being the hacker, as mentioned in the above tweet. The SmackDown hacker angle and RETRIBUTION's storyline are probably related in WWE. Most fans thought Ali would be revealed as the hacker, but with some new context, it makes sense how the SmackDown hacker storyline was a precursor to the formation of RETRIBUTION.
