WWE RAW: 5 Surprises that could happen at MSG- Heel turn, Clash of Champions match changed

What a great episode of RAW this could potentially be!
What a great episode of RAW this could potentially be!

Madison Square Garden is described by many fans as the Mecca of Sports Entertainment. One thing that you can be sure of is that WWE will put all their energy into ensuring that this week's episode of WWE RAW is a stacked one.

And to achieve this, they will have to fill the show with a bunch of surprises. In this article, I will run through some of the interesting ways that they could book the show to make it interesting.

Before I begin this article, I invite you to leave a comment and let me know your thoughts here. Which of these surprises would you potentially like to see at Madison Square Garden?

And which of these surprises would you not like to see play out?

#5 Lucha House Party turns heel, Dominick makes the save

I'm sure that Rey Mysterio vs. Gran Metalik will be an awesome match, but from the way that things are going with Rey Mysterio over the past few weeks, I'm sure that just a good match may not be all that's been planned for the legendary performer. Mysterio teased hanging up his mask, but it was his son who stopped his father from ending his career prematurely, leading to speculation that Dominick Mysterio may enter the ring very soon.

Now, The Lucha House Party hasn't exactly set the world on fire during their stint on the main roster, often serving as fodder for Lars Sullivan in the past. Maybe a heel turn will suit them just fine because once Rey Mysterio wins this match, the rest of the group can team up and take him on until Dominick makes the save. It would be a great way to introduce the man and his skills to the audience at large.

#4 Braun Strowman turns on Seth Rollins; Tag titles have to be vacated

This is a storyline that we have seen several times in the past, and I expect it not to be any different this time around as well. Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins are a formidable tag team which is why they are the RAW Tag Team Champions. But at the same time, Strowman has his eyes on the other prize that Seth Rollins holds as well, which is the WWE Universal Championship.

I'm guessing that the big plan is to have Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman wrestle twice on the same night, but is that really a wise idea when actual tag teams have to sit on the sidelines when they could be having great matches? Teams like the AoP don't even have a spot when they could be waging wars with the Viking Raiders in the main roster. WWE actually has competition now, and so there's a chance that performers who're not happy may defect elsewhere.

It would be very cool to have Roode and Ziggler square off against a team like The OC or even Heavy Machinery at WWE Clash of Champions if the titles actually do get vacated after a heel turn from Braun Strowman.

#3 Interesting name causes Ricochet to drop out of the competition

A lot of people were shocked when Ricochet defeated Drew McIntyre to advance in the King of the Ring tournament considering that a lot of people had assumed that McIntyre would go on to win the whole thing, all by his lonesome. A lot more people were surprised when it turned out that there was no retribution or revenge from McIntyre in the match against Samoa Joe.

I have a feeling that McIntyre could interfere and take Ricochet out to make sure that someone like Samoa Joe goes to the next round in the tournament, leading to a feud between McIntyre and Ricochet. If you consider the fact that the most likely finals are going to be between Gable and Joe, considering their interaction on SmackDown, this is the most likely course of action.

McIntyre and Ricochet could start a feud that stretches out for many months, that elevates both men immensely. Both men are extremely creative and they can work some innovative spots into the program as well, I figure.

Drew McIntyre is far too big a name to be kept out of a marquee RAW airing live from Madison Square Garden.

#2 Yet another addition to the Universal Championship match

For some odd reason, The OC has inserted themselves in the affairs at the top of the card, leading to a very complicated mix in the Universal Championship picture, I feel. I mean AJ Styles pretty much confirmed to us that he believes that he should be in the running for the Universal Championship as the United States Champion on RAW. Could this be a precursor to a Clash of Champions match being changed and AJ Styles being inserted into the mix?

One of the biggest questions that was brought up was whether Rollins and Strowman have the gas tank to compete in two title matches over the course of the same night. One thing that we know for sure is that this will not be an issue for AJ Styles, who has the stamina that equals and maybe even surpasses that of a cardio machine like Seth Rollins.

So, essentially Styles and someone like Cedric Alexander could have a fantastic match on the under-card for the US Championship and then he could go on to the main event, bruised and battered to challenge for the WWE Universal Championship. The way things are lining up, this seems like a very real possibility to me.

#1 Bray Wyatt reveals The Wyatt Family members

Rumors about The Fiend attacking Stone Cold Steve Austin have already surfaced and honestly, I think it's pretty obvious if you think about it. I mean what we do know is that he will be inserted into the Universal Championship picture at Hell in a Cell, and what better way to do that than to interfere in this contract signing segment?

No, I'll elaborate upon yet another possibility, something that I have already raised in another article. I really do think that a new Wyatt Family is coming our way and we should know who the members are by the time that Survivor Series is upon us, from the way that things are looking at the moment.

Maybe the first member, who could be Mercy The Buzzard could be unveiled this week. Someone like Luke Harper who's been sitting on the sidelines doing nothing at all would be perfect for this role, especially if you consider his history with Bray Wyatt.

I mean if Bray Wyatt is going to interfere in a segment that also has Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman, in addition to Stone Cold Steve Austin, he's going to need some backup, or the top stars in the company will come across as super weak.
