WWE RAW: 5 Things we could expect to see tonight - Matt Riddle attacking Brock Lesnar, Aleister Black to become #1 contender for Championship?

After an amazing SmackDown last Friday, Monday Night RAW will emanate from Nassau Coliseum tonight. This upcoming RAW is a must-watch since it is the fallout episode from Crown Jewel and will give us answers to a lot of questions.

Also, after a triumphant episode of SmackDown last week, it would be interesting to see what RAW comes up with. The Blue brand produced one of the best episodes of the year at a time of adversity as most of the Superstars couldn’t make it to the show after performing in Saudi Arabia a day earlier.

As a result, NXT stars took over the show and ended the night on a high note, making the first move with Survivor Series on the horizon. With that in mind, here are the five things that we could expect to see tonight on Monday Night RAW.

#5 Rusev going personal against Lashley

This is a storyline that has divided opinions like none other. On one hand, there are many who do not like the edgy content that they are witnessing from this love triangle involving Rusev, Lana, and Bobby Lashley.

While on the other hand, this program seems to be generating a lot of buzz among casual fans. Indeed, a glance at WWE’s YouTube channel would reveal that the segment involving this trio has 7 million views, which is the highest they have had in the last week.

Lashley and Rusev clashed against each other in the 5-man tag team match between Team Hogan and Team Flair and we can expect this storyline to take a step further tonight.

Rusev could perhaps go personal against Lashley and bring someone close from Lashley’s personal life. Maybe, he could bring in Lashley’s ex and former WWE Superstar Kristel Marshall to taunt the Almighty.

#4 New challenger for Becky Lynch

This one could be a real tricky one for WWE. Becky Lynch’s last feud for the RAW Women’s Title was against Sasha Banks. After prevailing over The Boss, she now finds herself at a place where she doesn’t have a challenger.

As Sasha Banks is on SmackDown, there is no chance for her to continue the feud with Lynch, who is on RAW. As a result, The Man is in need of a new challenger for the RAW Women’s Title.

With Survivor Series coming up, there is a chance that she might not be given a long-term feud until after the PPV. There is also a chance that Shayna Baszler may attack her tonight like she attacked Bayley on SmackDown last week.

However, with three more RAW episodes to go before Survivor Series, WWE might opt to give Lynch a challenger and if I had to make a guess on who it could be, Liv Morgan seems like a viable candidate.

She has been teasing a change in character for a while but nothing has come off it so far on WWE TV. Now might be a good time to pull the trigger.

#3 Aleister Black challenging AJ Styles

Humberto Carrillo won the 20-man Battle Royal on the kick-off show of Crown Jewel to become the number one contender for AJ Styles’ US Championship. He put out a great show in Saudi Arabia against the Phenomenal One but ultimately came up short against him.

While WWE could continue pushing Carrillo, there is someone else who is a better candidate to have a feud against AJ Styles for the US Title: Aleister Black. The former NXT Champion was drafted to RAW in the recent WWE Draft but so far, he has mainly been cutting promos from a dark room – something that he had already been doing at SmackDown prior to his move to RAW.

Black is an insanely talented in-ring worker and has a strong gimmick to back it up as well. The Dutch Destroyer has champion written all over him and WWE will have to do something with him sooner rather than later.

As a result, pitting him against AJ Styles for the US Championship would be a great first step towards a long-overdue push.

#2 More NXT Takeover

When WWE announced that NXT would be a part of the Survivor Series this year, the fans were rightly pumped about it. Things escalated to another level when NXT Superstars took over SmackDown last week.

While it was a move borne out of necessity due to Superstars being stuck in Saudi Arabia, the response WWE got from it might force the company to continue on the same path for Monday Night RAW.

With three more RAW episodes to still go before Survivor Series, coupled with the fact that the Superstars are back from Saudi Arabia, Creative might not have a full-fledged attack from NXT on RAW like they did with SmackDown and instead, opt for a slower and steady path.

As a result, it would be interesting to see which NXT Superstar comes to invade RAW. I, for one, would like to see Matt Riddle come and have a go at Brock Lesnar (if he is at the show).

Or, perhaps, the Undisputed Era could make their presence felt with sneaky backstage attacks.

#1 Lesnar beating Rey Mysterio to a pulp/Dominik to make the save

Last week on SmackDown, Paul Heyman revealed that Brock Lesnar wanted Vince McMahon to, in Heyman’s words, serve Rey Mysterio to him but the Chairman refused claiming that Mysterio couldn’t come to SmackDown since he is contracted to RAW.

As a result, Brock Lesnar quit the Blue brand so that he could lay his hands on Rey Mysterio, who hit him with multiple chair shorts after The Beast won his match against Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel.

Paul Heyman went on to promise that his client will show up on RAW to hunt Mysterio and also threatened him in Spanish that his life is in danger. With Lesnar quitting SmackDown and Heyman announcing that he will be on RAW, it would be safe to assume that Lesnar will be on the Red brand tonight and would look to inflict pain on the Master of the 619.

Maybe, Dominik could save his father by attacking Lesnar with a chair, finally paving the way to start his career in WWE. Or, perhaps, Mysterio will just be beaten to a pulp to set up a match between the two somewhere down the line.
