RAW before WrestleMania Backlash Preview: Reason why WrestleMania rematch could have a controversial ending, Backstage figure to align with Alexa Bliss?

This episode of RAW will be a big one.

Welcome to the RAW before WrestleMania Backlash Preview. Last week's episode of RAW was a huge improvement from the weeks post-WrestleMania. Given the difference in the quality of the build between RAW and SmackDown, the Red brand needs to step up its game.

There are a lot of interesting programs and matches on RAW that can set the tone, so hopefully, we get another improved episode of RAW. Let's get right into it:

#5. Bobby Lashley faces Drew McIntyre on RAW in a WrestleMania rematch

The main event of RAW this week is going to be a big one. Last week, Bobby Lashley was going to face either Braun Strowman or Drew McIntyre. A coin toss before RAW determined that The Monster Among Men would get his chance at defeating the WWE Champion in a non-Title match.

That didn't happen. Controversy and interference happened as expected, and Bobby Lashley defeated Braun Strowman. It was instantly announced that the following week on RAW, Drew McIntyre would face Bobby Lashley in a non-Title match on RAW.

This is going to be an interesting one. The WWE Title Triple Threat match could be the main event of WrestleMania Backlash, or it could be the Universal Title bout between Roman Reigns and Cesaro.

In terms of star power, the WWE TItle match is stacked. It looks like it's going to be an explosive main event and with this being the go-home RAW to WrestleMania Backlash, a clean finish won't be expected here either.

If anything, the reason why this match could end controversially is so that both Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley are protected. Unless WWE wants to pull off a shocker and have Drew McIntyre win clean to establish the next Title program for May and June, a definitive finish doesn't make much sense.

#4. Who does Alexa Bliss have her eyes on?

Alexa Bliss mentioned on RAW last week that Lily had her eyes on somebody. This instantly brought up the question of who Alexa Bliss' next target is. A subtle backstage segment on RAW revealed that Sonya Deville was the person Lily had her eyes on.

It was interesting because few people realized it until they watched back and noticed the background. Deville - a backstage authority figure - who has been favoring Charlotte Flair recently, could make a major change and eventually align with Alexa Bliss.

#3. A six-woman Tag Team match to take place on RAW

Charlotte Flair will team up with the Women's Tag Team Champions.
Charlotte Flair will team up with the Women's Tag Team Champions.

Charlotte Flair will reluctantly team up with her old rivals Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax to take on the trio of Asuka, Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke. Some of the finishes involving the women's tag team champions have been slightly predictable - with Shayna Baszler taking a pinfall loss more often than not.

Dana Brooke has been on the receiving end of Baszler's submission, so if there is anyone who could lose the match for their team, it's Brooke. It will also be interesting to see if Asuka is able to lead her team to victory ahead of the Triple Threat RAW Women's Title match at WrestleMania Backlash.

#2. Sheamus and the new US Title challengers on RAW

Mansoor is the newest RAW Superstar.

Sheamus has had an exciting start to his United States Championship reign. He's been the anti-John Cena for the first few weeks, teasing a US Title match to everybody but not granting it.

Humberto Carrillo was on the receiving end of Sheamus' beatdowns, but last week was different. RAW's newest signing, Mansoor, was Sheamus' challenger, but the match ended when Humberto Carrillo interfered to get revenge on Sheamus.

Will their rivalry escalate this week and result in a US Title match at WrestleMania Backlash?

#1. An 8-Man Tag Team Match

This should be a fun one
This should be a fun one

There's no RAW Tag Team Title match official for WrestleMania Backlash just yet. The RAW Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Omos returned for the first time post-WrestleMania and they retained the Titles against The New Day.

This week, they team up with Jaxson Ryker and Elias to take on The New Day and R-K-Bro. Will there be a significant pinfall that leads to a Title match for Sunday's pay-per-view?
