WWE RAW after TLC Preview: Possibly surprising direction for Drew McIntyre, Popular star's title push begins (December 21st, 2020)

The fallout of TLC.
The fallout of TLC.

Welcome to the RAW after TLC 2020 Preview. It was a fantastic pay-per-view to close out one of the most interesting, and certainly the most unique year in WWE history.

There's a lot to unpack from TLC, and RAW will see the fallout of the pay-per-view. Here's what to expect from the second last RAW of 2020.

#5. RAW is still Claymore Country, but who's next for Drew McIntyre?

A defining moment.
A defining moment.

Drew McIntyre ensured that RAW remains Claymore Country at TLC after defeating AJ Styles and The Miz in a war. It was the match of the night, and the face of Monday Night RAW did what he's done all throughout 2020 - overcome adverse circumstances to retain the WWE Championship.

There have been few WWE Champions in the last decade that put out the quality of pay-per-view matches Drew McIntyre did, and his opponent AJ Styles was one of them. It was always going to be an instant classic, but the addition of The Miz to the match made a lot of fans anxious about the Scotsman's title reign.

The Miz, after weeks of teasing on RAW, finally cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase in the middle of the TLC match. However, AJ Styles' bodyguard, Omos, made sure that it was a guaranteed failure.

After taking out The Miz, he chased John Morrison away, and some way or the other, Drew McIntyre outsmarted the duo to grab the WWE Title and retain at TLC.

One night later on RAW, the big question is who could be next for Drew McIntyre. One logical option is Randy Orton, with who he didn't get to fully complete his rivalry.

However, we could see a surprising direction of WWE going with Drew McIntyre vs. AJ Styles again. Since there's still more than a month to the Royal Rumble, the feud could continue on RAW and have the payoff match to end the year as well.

Either way, TLC proved to be a defining moment of Drew McIntyre's incredible 2020, and he continues to establish himself as one of the best faces RAW has had in years.

#4. Riddle begins his title aspirations

Riddle picked up a big win last week.
Riddle picked up a big win last week.

We're a bit surprised that WWE decided not to go with the RAW feud of Riddle vs. Bobby Lashley at TLC. It appears to be the same case as Sami Zayn vs. Big E - which will take place on SmackDown instead.

Similarly, Riddle has been crossing paths with The Hurt Business and defeated MVP last week. But Bobby Lashley has gotten the better of him numerous times. Riddle's first major title feud will begin on RAW, but will Bobby Lashley continue to beat him down?

#3. Will The Hurt Business bring a new era to RAW's Tag Team division?

Business is booming.
Business is booming.

The Hurt Business continued to rack up the gold as Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin won the RAW Tag Team Championship from The New Day. What was interesting was the fact that it was the first time the combination of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods lost the titles when competing together. This made the victory all the more sweeter for MVP's faction.

Cedric Alexander got a bit greedy and tagged himself in to get the finish despite Shelton Benjamin being in a prime position to end Kofi Kingston himself. Either way, the gold is theirs, and the RAW Tag Team division could finally get a lot more interesting. Will The Hurt Business usher in a new era?

#2. What lies ahead with Asuka and Charlotte Flair as Tag Team Champions?

Asuka and Charlotte Flair - Champions, but for how long?
Asuka and Charlotte Flair - Champions, but for how long?

As expected, Charlotte Flair replaced Lana at TLC after the latter suffered an injury on RAW. It was clear that the two former rivals would be winning, and they defeated Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax to do so - making Flair a Grand Slam Women's Champion.

The fallout of this on RAW will be interesting. Charlotte Flair might be a generational talent, but she has always been a solo star - more so than Asuka. We could witness a short honeymoon phase as tag team Champions before the clash of egos start again - leading to a RAW Women's Championship match.

Are we seeing the seed planted for the Royal Rumble RAW Women's title match?

#1. What will Randy Orton do next on RAW after the shocking conclusion to TLC?

Sheer brutality.
Sheer brutality.

The Firefly Inferno Match certainly exceeded a lot of expectations. The Viper and The Fiend went to war, and it ended with Bray Wyatt lying down in the middle of the ring after Randy Orton set fire to him.

That actually happened. We've seen Randy Orton unleash his sadistic side before, but this was unlike anything he has done. What will be the fallout of this on RAW?

Will Alexa Bliss return? Will Bray Wyatt reemerge? Will Randy Orton pursue the WWE Championship again? Tune in to RAW to find out.
