WWE Roadblock 2016: A title change imminent?

WWE has some interesting title changes planned for Roadblock

WWE RAW-exclusive pay-per-view Roadblock: End of the Line comes to us live from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania tomorrow night. On the eve of 2016’s last PPV, Allwrestlingnews.com has reported that at least one major title shall change hands on Roadblock.

While it has not been established as to which title would get a new holder, the same reports have hinted that the New Day’s fairytale run may finally come to an end.

The card of Roadblock: End of the Line, features four title bouts. So let us analyze all four match-ups, and examine which title can end up with a new holder:

Kevin Owens (c) vs. Roman Reigns (Singles match for the WWE Universal Championship)

The crown prince of WWE’s flagship show, Kevin Owens is set to defend his WWE Universal Title against The Big Dog, Roman Reigns. If Reigns manages to come out on top, he will exit Pittsburgh Arena as a dual champion. (WWE Universal Championship and WWE United States Champion).

The buildup of the main event has seen Reigns besting Owens multiple times, on both RAW and brand exclusive live shows. He has dominated the feud and with WWE backing him up, the night can culminate in his favor.

Another factor that supports his case is the falling out between Jericho and Owens. Y2J was quintessential in Owen’s title defense against Seth Rollins. He interfered in all of their matches and helped Owens continue his lukewarm title reign.

However, the two best friends have parted ways recently, and unless Triple H interferes in the proceedings, it is safe to say that Reigns might achieve the elusive feat.

Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte Flair (30-minute Iron Man match for the WWE Raw Women's Championship)

The Women’s division has improved leaps and bounds during the year, and Sasha Banks and Charlotte have played a huge role. Although their never-ending feud has gone stale in the past week, the two women would once again define history with a capital H, come Roadblock on Sunday.

Both the Superstars have exchanged titles between them over the past year and this fight is rumoured to be their final hurrah. Thankully Banks losing this time does not appear to be the likely outcome.

But with that said, it is WWE we are talking about, and anything can happen inside the squared circle.

Rich Swann (c) vs. T.J. Perkins vs. The Brian Kendrick (Triple threat match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship)

Rich Swann has surprisingly been a dominant champion, in his short but sweet title reign. The 25-year-old has defeated both TJ Perkins and veteran Brian Kendrick in one-on-one matches.

However, the stipulation of the match can indeed see us getting a new champion. WWE has also teased a heel turn for T.J. Perkins over the past few episodes of 205 Live!

The heel turn could finally trigger the apparent shift of power, yet Kendrick can be a dark horse in the spot infested matchup.

The New Day (Big E and/or Kofi Kingston and/or Xavier Woods) (c) vs. Cesaro and Sheamus (Tag team match for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship)

The Preachers of Positivity have enjoyed a fairytale run as the WWE RAW Tag Team Champions. The trio recently achieved the groundbreaking feat after they conquered the 478-day title run of Demolition.

However, come Roadblock, they will most likely lose their title to the unconventional duo of Cesaro and Sheamus.

A title win for Cesaro and Sheamus can benefit their unusual partnership and can give them a purpose, while the New Day has already conquered whatever there was to conquer and can certainly exist without the title.
