WWE Royal Rumble: 5 Interesting Superstars who could enter the match at number 30

Imagine the roar of the crowd, if Edge actually returns
Imagine the roar of the crowd, if Edge actually returns

Believe it or not, we're only days away from the Royal Rumble, following which the road to WrestleMania officially begins, in truly spectacular fashion. The Royal Rumble match for the men has already received its first jolt in the arm when Paul Heyman announced that Brock Lesnar would enter the match at Number 1.

But who could enter the match at Number 30, and realistically have the best chance of winning the whole thing? We all know that most Royal Rumbles do not pan out with Number 30 picking up the win, but Number 30 is a coveted spot, at least from a storyline point of view.

Be sure to let me know who you would like in that spot, people. I would be very curious to know who would want as the winner of the match as well.

So without further ado, let's identify 5 viable contenders at Number 30.

#5 Edge

Edge has one of the most memorable theme songs in the history of WWE and if he were to indeed make a return at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, it would be one of the greatest pops in the history of the wrestling business, in my opinion.

There are various rumors doing the rounds, indicating that the man may indeed make a huge comeback at the Royal Rumble. If Edge were to return, the Royal Rumble might be the safest match for him to be a part of.

The only reason why his name is so low in the list is that if he was to be eliminated, then the WWE Universe would turn on the match in a pretty major way. And if the audience hijacks the match, then that's a situation WWE doesn't want to be in.

#4 Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre has made his intentions about the Royal Rumble well-known and is being considered as many to be the man who goes on to win the whole thing too. And if you look at him and his physical attributes, you'd imagine that Vince McMahon may have already marked him as a future World Champion.

For McIntyre to come into the Rumble at the Number 30 spot and be one of the Final 4 would be a big deal for him. Even if he were to eliminate Brock Lesnar, it would probably earn him a title opportunity at WrestleMania.

Drew McIntyre isn't necessarily a surprise per se, but I do believe that he would be a very interesting name for the Number 30 spot, at least. One thing that's for sure is that 2020 is certain to be his year, considering how dominant he's seemed every time he's on camera.

#3 The Undertaker

A lot of people are speculating that it will be Roman Reigns vs. The Fiend at WrestleMania this year. While that would be a great match for sure, it is also a match that can happen in the following year or the year after.

The Undertaker only has a handful of matches left in him, and The Fiend wrestles a very safe style that can potentially allow him to take on The Undertaker in a match that won't expose the legend's age and his weaknesses. It is high time that The Undertaker puts The Fiend over and passes on the torch to him.

I wouldn't mind The Undertaker coming in, cleaning house, winning the Royal Rumble, and challenging The Fiend. It would be the setup for a huge match down the line.

It is impossible to deny that a match of this magnitude would really go over well at WrestleMania. A story of two supernatural forces writes itself.

#2 John Cena

Don't you think that that the roof of the building would blow if John Cena was revealed as the man in the Number 30 spot this year? And even though John Cena has taken a step or two back in the last few years, there's a rumor that has surfaced that makes me wonder whether Cena's due for a big comeback. WrestleVotes had this interesting update:

John Cena could be the man who ends up eliminating Brock Lesnar, setting up a huge match for WrestleMania. Cena would not want to win the whole thing, I'm sure, because he's always been a man who's about doing the right thing and putting the next generation over, but if Cena were to win the match, he could also put The Fiend over at WrestleMania 36.

John Cena would also bring a lot of mainstream attention owing to the fact that he's a certified movie star now.

#1 Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy was, is, and always will remain one of the most beloved WWE Superstars of all time. The man can perform incredible feats of athleticism and is no longer a young man either!

If he does return at the Number 30 spot in the Royal Rumble from the injury that's kept him out for months now, there's pretty much no chance of him winning the whole thing. But at the same time, it would be cool to see Matt Hardy about to be eliminated, when Jeff Hardy comes back to make the save.

Matt Hardy has been clearly dissatisfied with the way that he's been booked on television and Jeff Hardy's return could certainly change things for the man. The Hardy Boyz could certainly reunite to take on The Viking Raiders or The AoP at Wrestlemania 36.

Whom would you choose to put in the Number 30 position?
