In today's roundup, we take a look at the huge planned mistake that took place on RAW, another update on Edge, The Revival saying goodbye, the next Saudi Arabian pay-per-view and more!

As usual, before we get to all that, it is time to check out the two headline-makers of the day:

Triple H wants 2 Superstars to return

Triple H has revealed that he would love to see Edge and Paige return to the ring but their health is the main thing to focus on. Talking to Sportskeeda’s Gary Cassidy, the WWE COO claimed that he is a fan of the two Superstars and would be open to having them back in the ring. He said:

“When you're talking about people as talented as Edge and Paige, who wouldn't want them to return? I'm a fan, just like everyone else, and, yeah, I'd love to see them step into the ring and compete. More importantly than that, though, I'd like to see them live long and healthy lives.”

"So, with both of them, those would be personal choice for them... No, I shouldn't say that. Personal choice would be a part of it, then medical choice for the other part. WWE is at a different level. There is no other level, almost, from a medical oversight standpoint."

Former WWE champion talked out of retirement

Rey Mysterio was talked out of retiring by his son, Dominick according to Sportskeeda's very own, Tom Colohue. The real-life incident was used as a part of storyline as well and Colohue claims that it was a decision Rey took a few months ago. He said:

Well, this is the final run, he has been quite open about that. He cut a promo a few weeks ago, maybe months ago to be fair, they have tried a couple of different pushes with Dominick Mysterio but they have had bad luck with Rey getting injured, he was off TV, a few weeks, few months I’m not entirely sure, but there was a promo in which he said he was going to retire and then was talked out of it by his son.

Another pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia?

WrestleVotes reported last night that WWE is planning to have another international pay-per-view in February and now, PWInsider is also reporting the same. The new report claims that WWE is heading back to Saudi Arabia for a PPV on February 20th.

Last year's Crown Jewel was both historic and controversial for WWE and they would be looking to make amends this time around. Natalya and Lacey Evans became the first women to wrestle in the Middle East while the post-event incidents that led to the Superstars' flight getting delayed left several of them stunned.

However, now just 5 weeks before WrestleMania, WWE seems to be heading back to Saudi Arabia.

Paige 'confirms' Royal Rumble return

Paige has hilariously claimed that she will be returning for the Royal Rumble this month. In an attempt to ridicule the rumors of her in-ring return, she stated that she will be entering the Men's Royal Rumble!

Not only that, but she also revealed that she will be the #2 entrant, take Brock Lesnar to Suplex City and go on to win the Rumble!

The Revival says goodbye for a while

The Revival's contract status still remains in the balance and the tag-team are yet to reveal details about their future. They have been offered new deals by WWE but are yet to sign the contracts.

At the same time, several rumors are going around that All Elite Wrestling is interested in signing them and has been keen on getting them over to the new promotion for a year now.

The Revival's Scott Dawson has taken to Twitter to reveal that they will be offline for some time while they figure thing out. He tweeted: “Guys, it’s time to go away for a while until we get everything figured out. See ya soon.”

Sean Ross Sapp also reported on the news recently, stating:

“It's also said that most top executives and names of influence have always wanted to keep The Revival around, it's a matter of Vince McMahon being on board with the things they want, and their act in general.”

With their contracts up soon and them not signing the new deals yet, Vince McMahon is reportedly looking to make them comical characters.

Major update on Edge returning to the ring

Edge
Edge

'You think you know me?' Edge seems to be adamant about rebuffing rumours that suggest he has been cleared to return to the ring. However, several sources are reporting that the former WWE Champion is set to appear at Royal Rumble for certain.

The latest report comes from WrestleZone, just days after WrestlingNews reported the following:

“We’ve been told that Edge signed a new deal. We’ve been told that it has a very nice upside to it financially and you have to think it’s not just a legends deal where they just have him show up and have him do promos. So, I think there’s more smoke to the fire with Edge than there is with Paige as we record this.”

WrestleZone have not just reported that Edge will be returning to the ring but also that he will be a part of the Royal Rumble match. Their report reads:

"A source speaking with Wrestlezone recently said Edge will make his in-ring return, and we can expect to see him as an entrant in the 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble match."

Backstage update on 'huge mistake on RAW'

Last week on RAW, the preacher who was supposed to officiate the Lana-Bobby Lashley wedding was tackled by security when he was trying to enter the ring. The segment was captured as AJ Styles was making his way back after his match.

Dave Meltzer is now reporting on Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it was not a mistake at all. He claims that it was planned to get people talking, creating a buzz out of nothing. He said:

"It was a way to get people talking by doing something out of the box with the idea anything can happen on the show and they did it right before a planned commercial break with the idea of hooking people to not switch channels during the break by having people see something they thought they weren’t supposed to see."

Rusev and Lashley are set to go one-on-one this week and there is a good chance of Liv Morgan getting involved once again. She has already teased the same on Twitter and with Lana in Lashley's corner, will we see Liv occupy Rusev's?
