WWE Rumor Roundup- 17 December 2019

In today's roundup, we take a look at why AOP will attack an injured Superstar on next week's RAW; the epic promo Paul Heyman wrote and more! But before we get into all that, it's best to kick things off with the 2 headline-makers of the day:

Injured Superstar could be out until 2021

Xavier Woods is out with an Achilles injury and there is no exact date for his return. The New Day member has revealed that he could be back in 4-5 months or in the worst-case scenario, only in time for WrestleMania 37!

Talking on WWE's new, The New Day: Feel The Power podcast, Woods said:

“Maybe I'll be back at, like, Survivor Series next year, but maybe not. Maybe I'll be back by 'Mania the year after next, but, like, maybe not. So the chances of that are very low that I would come back that late, but just the fact that there is a percentage chance that could happen, for lack of a better term, like, it just makes me sad." All of us here at Sportskeeda wish him a speedy recovery!

Cody Rhodes confirms AEW want Luke Harper

Luke Harper finally got his release granted by WWE and is free to sign with any promotion in the world. All Elite Wrestling is always the first name that is linked with any unhappy WWE Superstar and, it looks like AEW could actually be signing Harper.

Cody Rhodes was on a media call today and he confirmed that they are interested in signing the former NXT tag champion. He said:

“He would be great as part of AEW. He's a name that when you hear they've asked for their release, you definitely think about that and the next steps, for sure. I think he's going to flourish with what he does next, he's very special.”

Rey Mysterio's son, Dominic has been on WWE TV for some time but it looks like he is not yet ready to make his debut. The 22-year-old executed a 619 on Brock Lesnar and topped it off with a frog splash but was unable to help his father win the WWE Championship.

Sportskeeda's very own, Gary Cassidy was on a media call with Rey Mysterio today and the Master of 619 revealed that he expects his son to debut late next year. He said:

I'm hoping that my son can be ready by next year. I hope that we can all get the chance to see him in 2020, and I'm just as excited as the fans to see him step into the ring and have an official match, so let's hope that it's next year, by the end of the year 2020.

Paul Heyman wrote Becky Lynch's promo?

Becky Lynch delivered a stunning promo on Monday Night RAW last night and it was well-received by the WWE Universe. The intense promo saw her challenge Asuka to a title match and Dave Meltzer has reported that it could have been written by Paul Heyman.

The Wrestling Observer journalist claims that the promo had Heyman's fingerprints all over it as that is how his mind works. He said:

That had a lot of Heyman fingerprints on it just because of the way his mind works. So I’m pretty sure that was a Heyman scripted deal and she’s good, she delivered it well. The key to it all, when all was said and done, was Asuka came off like a big-time major star, when your champion, who is really over and is one of the hotter people in the company, goes out there and pretty much tells you that this woman has beaten me and I haven’t beaten her, in theory, it’s going to make, especially the way it was said, because when it was over, I was kind of like, ‘wow, Asuka has rehabbed right now, I don’t want to say 100% rehab, but she’s rehabbed. It was really good at getting an opponent over."
