WWE Rumor Roundup – 17 September 2019

In today's roundup, we take a look at why Kane took out the top heels on Monday Night RAW, Randy Orton's cryptic tweet to Bray Wyatt, update on Rusev and Maria Kanellis and more!

But first, let's start with what is mentioned in the title of the article:

3 major returns set to happen

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Drew McIntyre, and The Usos are set to return to WWE TV soon. He claims that the plans are in place for their return and it could happen any time soon.

McIntyre has been out of action for a few weeks following his minor surgery. He lost to Ricochet in the King of the Ring tournament when he last appeared on Monday Night RAW. Some rumours suggest that he could be on NXT's debut on USA Network on Wednesday as well.

The Usos have been out of action for some time as well but they are not injured. Jimmy and Jey did not have a storyline to work on but have finally got something. Meltzer notes that they will be teaming up with Roman Reigns to take on Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.

Cedric Alexander's push to end?

Paul Heyman has been high on Cedric Alexander and has been pushing the former 205 Live star a lot. However, it looks like Vince McMahon is not a big fan of him and wants the push to end.

Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio claims that the chairman of WWE has made the decision. He also claims that it could be because something else is planned for the former Cruiserweight champion. He said:

“I was told last night that Vince McMahon wanted to bury him. I don't know why, why would you want to do that? Maybe they are going to set him up for something else. I don't know. I don't see a good sign for him right now.”

Cedric was involved in a match for the United States title against AJ Styles in the kick-off show of Clash of Champions. Styles crushed him in the matchup and the former Cruiserweight champion was beaten up by The OC, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, after the match ended.

Rusev is not the father of Maria Kanellis' child!

Maria Kanellis first named Ricochet as the father of her child but she revealed that it was a lie as soon as Mike lost his match to him. The former 24/7 champion, and WWE's first pregnant champion, then shocked the WWE Universe by naming Rusev as the father.

However, Dave Meltzer notes that he too isn't the father figure in this storyline and the real one will be revealed later. He believes that it will be a long time before the actual name is revealed but it certainly isn't Rusev.

“Rusev is not the father. I don’t know how they will get out of it next week but next week they will tell us that he is not the father. I think. I’m pretty sure about that actually. I think the reveal of the father is going to be like something like a long, long, long-term thing.”

Rusev is married to another WWE Superstar, Lana in real life and unless WWE want to use her in the storyline as well, things could change quickly.

Randy Orton sends a cryptic tweet to Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt has been the one sending cryptic messages and tweets so far but it looks like a former Wyatt Family member has started doing the same. Randy Orton today took to Twitter to send a cryptic message to The Fiend.

Wyatt is now confirmed to take on Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell for the WWE Universal title. The Fiend is undefeated since his return and could be the next champion at the pay-per-view.

Randy Orton, meanwhile, could be in line to get yet another shot at the WWE title against Kofi Kingston. The push for the champion has to end and it could be the Viper to take him out finally after battling him for weeks!

However, with the WWE Drafts set to take place next month, things could change for Orton. Will the Viper and Wyatt be teaming up once again after the WWE Draft? Only time will tell...

Why Kane took out the top heels on Monday Night RAW

Monday Night RAW was in Knoxville this week - Kane's hometown! He first won the WWE 24/7 championship from R-Truth earlier in the day before losing it back to him just before the show began.

However, it was his return as the Devil's Favourite Demon at the end of the show that stunned the WWE Universe. Kane came to the aid of Seth Rollins who was getting beaten by The OC, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.

He took out of all them only to be attacked by The Fiend to end the show. Dave Meltzer now has an update on why this segment took place:

"I actually liked that (the Kane segment) because it was fun all the way across and then at the end he does that big thing and when he was doing it, I was kind of getting mad because it’s kind of like it’s the freaking mayor and he’s beating up every freaking heel and he’s the retired guy beating up all the heels, but it was all to set up Bray Wyatt at the end and Bray Wyatt is the main event heel on the next PPV and I thought that was actually really well done.
"I didn’t like that at all but it was to build up. I mean it was, in the end, to make him strong so when Wyatt took him down, the whole thing is trying to make Wyatt into a monster."
